TURNING BLUE TO GREEN The Fish Waste for Profit conference focuses on a growing and potentially extremely lucrative sector, the reutilisation of fish processing by-products. Estimates reveal that 43% of fish and shellfish resources end up as wastage. The conference brings together experts and pioneers in the field to discuss, debate and make progress on maximising return on investment from potentially discarded parts of the catch, turning them into high value products for food and non-food sectors. https://lnkd.in/gsT_Rw54

Looking back on #ImmersedInChange in Costa Rica and the Keynote I did on the "Sustainable Blue Economy as an Engine for Prosperity" panel to advocate for sustainable aquaculture. With the #2030Agenda coming up, we need to set sails on #CircularEconomy and sustainability sciences. Aquaculture can only be sustainable if we shift from wild fish flours to alternative feed. By using insects in those feed, we can give value to the ever growing worldwide food waste. Bioremediation is a way to feed the world while saving the Ocean. #StopFishFlours #BlueInnovation #UNOC3
