𝗙𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 Yesterday I attended my first ever FED Conference with my colleagues from Tutor Trust - Equity in education. The event was full of rich and thought-provoking discussions about how the education sector can transform itself to provide high-quality, inclusive and equitable education. I have summarised my 3 key takeaways below. 𝟯 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 ⭐Meeting the needs of all young people and creating a truly equitable education system is dependent on the integration of children's services ⭐Focusing on both pupil and teacher wellbeing is critical if we are to reduce exclusions and increase teacher recruitment and retention ⭐Accountability measures need reforming to incentivise practices that will drive positive outcomes for learners, schools and communities Thanks to Joanne Meredith, Mark Wyss & Lizzie Pring for the opportunity, and The Foundation for Education Development for hosting such an interesting and expertly run event (and the lunch was also delicious, which was a bonus😋).

The winds of an educational renaissance are sweeping through South Florida, and it's a thrilling time to be part of this transformative journey. At the heart of this movement is the Innovative Educators Network, a dynamic force that has fostered an unprecedented space for collaboration. Here, barriers dissolve: whether they be political, religious, or cultural. We aren't merely observers of the so-called culture wars; we are architects of a harmonious future, redefining what it means to be united in diversity. Imagine an educational landscape where every child has the opportunity to thrive, where innovation and creativity are not just encouraged but are foundational pillars. This vision is not just aspirational; it is actionable and happening now. Powered by the passionate drive of mothers, caregivers, and the unwavering dedication of teachers, this movement is a testament to what is possible when community and commitment converge. We are not just participants in this movement; we are catalysts for change. We are reshaping the narrative around education, proving that collaboration can indeed transcend the divisions that often seem insurmountable. This is more than an initiative; it is a revolution of thought, a celebration of unity in purpose. Join us as we continue to break new ground and redefine what education can and should be. Together, we are crafting a legacy that will inspire generations to come. Let's embrace this moment and create a future where every child can learn, grow, and excel in an environment that celebrates their unique potential. Michael, here's some observations from my healthcare days in rehabilitation. In the '80's one therapist would treat twelve patients/day. Through the transformation to third party reimbursement, we had to alter our staffing models to include therapy assistants and therapy aids. With the re-design in resource allocation, one therapist could treat up to thirty-six patients a day. Imagine if teacher and support services responsibilities were re-designed. What if each classroom had a teacher, tutor, counselor and edTech specialist? I'm not suggesting this as a model. I'm suggesting we explore alternative staffing models to address your key point.
