#SIAL in Paris has just celebrated its 60th anniversary (the first exhibition was organized in 1964) with an impressive food show assembled like a jigsaw puzzle of pieces by companies from all over the world (7000 companies - exhibitors!!!). A dizzying kaleidoscope of tastes, smells, brands, meetings, new and long-familiar people... it's something you don't forget! (For sure, I will not) Mahdyar Hayat and I attended the event and talked with some participants and trade promotions organizations about the platform Manatex.digital What I'd like to point out. The exhibition must have been visited by hundreds of thousands of people from different countries. My estimation is this is approximately 30-40 visitors per exhibitor. Is this a lot or not at all? What is the outcome? While for some new, innovative, and famous brands, this participation is an absolute must, some companies struggle with return on money invested in booths and trips (unless they see it as an image action and unless they are fully sponsored by government organizations). My colleague prepared an article about it: https://lnkd.in/ev33egSA I had a chance to talk with government agencies and food associations from all over the world and I have to mention that in some countries this effort is very well organised. Just a few examples: Taiwan, Indonesia, USA (organizations representing different food associations and states were very active during the event). To summarize, trade shows are of course very important for the industry, serve as points of contact, and provide opportunities to build business bridges across the Globe. But all participants and visitors (including myself) can benefit from these amazing opportunities much more if they do the homework and get prepared!

Whether you are a seasoned exhibitor or a first time attendee, here are some tips to make the most out of your expo experience: 1. Set Clear Goals🎯 Define the intention of what you want to achieve from the onset. Is it generating leads, launching a new product or simply increasing brand awareness?Having clear objectives will help guide your strategy. 2. Stand out with your booth✴️ Your booth should represent your brand as it is your frontline. Also ensure that your stand assistants are very warm and receptive to garner as interactions with many people 3. Engage with attendees🤝 I can't emphasize enough on the need to have an approachable team. Other than being knowledgeable and proactive when engaging with attendees, the team should also be passionate as they conduct their duties. 4. Have offers and leverage social media 🎁📲 If it is possible, carry samples or give a discount at the expo. This will enable the attendees to have more interest in your products.
