Hey, interior designers! 👋🏼 Feeling overwhelmed or stuck lately? I was there not long ago.. believing I didn't fit into this architecture and interior design industry.. feeling outshined by everyone else… feeling not good enough.. But then, I had a little breakthrough. It’s really not about competing or proving anything to anyone. Being an architect or an interior designer is about focusing on what truly matters… SOLVING REAL PROBLEMS FOR REAL PEOPLE. This shift in perspective changed everything for me, reigniting my passion for architecture and how I support others in our field. Let's remember why we started: to create, to solve, to inspire. Hang in there, because what you do truly matters. Here to support each other every step of the way. And if you feel like giving up, DON’T! You are one help away from your breakthrough. I am rooting for you! ❤️ #architect #interiordesign #breakthrough #architecture #interiordesign

A good friend of mine is adding an addition to their house and asked me to review their architect's plans. When I reviewed the plans, I quickly found several areas for improvement. While the architect did a fine job, I find that architects often focus on the exterior and its interaction with the environment. In comparison, interior designers prioritize how people move through and use the space. It's surprising how often I see plans that don't account for essential details, like having a clear spot for a bed in a bedroom. And don’t get me started on bathroom lights and exhaust fans being on the same switch—that's a personal pet peeve! The construction process can be long, overwhelming, and complicated for those unfamiliar with it. That's why I always recommend hiring an interior designer as soon as, or even before, you hire an architect. We can ensure your vision is achieved from the start while often preventing costly mistakes down the road. #HomeDesign #InteriorDesign #ArchitecturalPlans #HomeRenovation #DesignTips #ConstructionAdvice #InteriorVsExterior #SpacePlanning #DesignCollaboration #AvoidMistakes #HomeAddition #DesignFromStart #DesignerAdvice #HomeImprovement #BuildingTips

As an interior designer (or as an architect), your creativity should energize, not exhaust you. If you’re constantly tired, stressed, and feeling discouraged, it’s time to reevaluate. Because your job as an interior designer shouldn’t make you hate it. But you can avoid the messy parts of the job with some practical adjustments. Start by setting up a workspace that inspires you—surround yourself with colors, textures, and objects that spark joy. Next, establish a daily routine that includes breaks for reflection and recharging, so you stay motivated throughout the day. Finally, streamline your processes by using project management tools that keep you organized and focused. I use Notion to manage my projects and clients. Prioritize your well-being by creating a work environment that supports your passion. Don’t let burnout steal your love for interior design. Ever feel like the chaos is too much? The Onboarding Process for Interior Design Projects I believe that understanding the client's goals and requirements is more important before starting the project. Some key points that need to be addressed are: 1. Client Consultation: The major step should be to understand what the client is looking for, for example, whether it is a renovation, new space, start-from-scratch, or refurbishment. 2. Space Assessment: Evaluating a space considers aspects like what is the current condition of the project and what is the overall situation. This can impact our scheduling choices. Help us carry out tasks seamlessly. 3. Budget and Timeline: Discuss with the client the budget for the project and the estimated timeline to make sure we can do the job successfully and are on the same page. 4. Design Preferences: Get to know the needs of the client for the design by showing them some of the available options or by visualizing them. 5. Site Visit and Design in 3D: Visit the location for measurements, followed by the 3D designs of the same. This will give an idea of the space's potential and how the project will look after completion of the project. After completing the site visit and perfecting the 3D designs, the project is ready for execution. #interiordesign #onboardingprocess #clientsuccess #designprocess #projectmanagement #interiordesigners #interiors #designs #interiordesigner #architect #architecture #founder
