One way to know you got good advice from a mentor: you don’t get a good night’s sleep afterwards. Had a great dinner with Paul Mabray last week. His best sales advice: lean on your close circle for warm sales leads. “If you’re going to be at holiday parties, you need to ask for these intros yesterday.” Your investors are in this with you. It’s ok to ask them to help sell—it’s their company too. So I woke up at 2:30am, not really able to sleep all that well knowing I need those warm intros, you know, yesterday.
