Earlier this month we were pleased to host a breakout space at the brilliant UK Youth #JoinedUpSummit! The summit was co-designed with young people. It was a day of energy, connection and collaboration which aimed to break down barriers between the different sectors and types of organisations and services that support young people. The summit was a step in the movement towards a “new era of joined-up working that puts young people’s needs and aspirations at the centre”. We were joined by special guests from Young Manchester and Company Chameleon and a video presentation from young people from Light Up Shirley Ensemble for our breakout session. Our workshop was a wonderful platform to share how #BeeWell is a positive example of joined up working. We mobilise cross-sector collaboration by listening to young people about wellbeing at scale, and driving action across society based on what they say. New Year, New Sticky Note Goals: Social Work’s Role in a Changing World ✨ A new year means new opportunities for growth and resilience. For social workers, it's a time to reflect on our mission to empower individuals, families, and communities. 📌 Here’s how Lets Reseed is stepping into 2025: *Supporting veterans and their families through transitions. *Building capacity for those navigating the NDIS. *Mentoring and guiding emerging professionals. 📝 How are YOU stepping into 2025? ✨ As social workers, our work is all about growth—both for ourselves and the people we serve. Sticky note goals can help us start fresh in 2025. 🌟 Sticky note goals to inspire my year: *Advocate for Change: Speak up for equity, inclusion, and justice in every space I enter. *Self-Care First: Prioritise my mental health so I can show up for others fully. *Learn and Grow: Commit to one new professional development opportunity this year. *Empower Others: Help clients see their strengths and build their capacity to thrive. *Build Connections: Foster strong networks within the social work community. *Celebrate Progress: Pause to recognise every small win—for my clients and myself. *Stay Grounded: Practice mindfulness to handle challenges with clarity and compassion. *Challenge Assumptions: Question biases and work toward truly inclusive practice. *Inspire Positivity: Be a source of hope and resilience in difficult times. *Keep Learning: Stay curious, stay informed, and stay open to new perspectives. 📝 What are YOUR sticky note goals for the year ahead? 🌟 Let's Reseed—one step at a time. #NewYearGoals #SocialWork2025 #VeteranSupport #NDISAdvocacy #InclusiveCommunities #EmpowermentJourney #SocialWorkAustralia #ResilienceBuilding #NewYearNewGoals #LetsReseed #StartTheYearRight

Just published - it took us ages to get this one out, but here it is. The study found its way into Emerald Publishing's Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development and dives into how CWS impact the wellbeing and satisfaction of micro-entrepreneurs, with a special focus on women with young children. Key findings: 👩👧👦 Supported Wellbeing: CWS provide a supportive environment that boosts the wellbeing of women juggling entrepreneurship and parenting. 🏡 Improved Work-Life Balance: These spaces help women with young children better manage work-family boundaries, reducing stress and support productivity. 🤝 Role of Community Support: The community and networking opportunities in CWS appear beneficial, offering social and professional support. 💼 Structured Work Environments: CWS offer structured settings that help maintain discipline and focus, which is vital for mothers balancing multiple responsibilities. Co-authored with Martin Lukes and Jan Zouhar, and guided by Patrick J. Murphy and Johan Kask, this study was supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TL03000670), and appears in full open access: https://lnkd.in/dszdhQhh

Last night, our CEO Diem (Yim) Huynh and Rebecca Lee, had the pleasure of attending the Third Sector Awards alongside social impact champion CEO Sue Boyce from Ability Works Australia Ltd! 👏 The event, hosted in partnership with the Centre for Social Impact, celebrated the unsung heroes of the not-for-profit and for-purpose sectors. We were thrilled to support Ability Works, nominated for the Digital Innovation award, which recognises their remarkable 13-year partnership with Transurban. This partnership is a powerful example of how inclusive employment and innovative technology can create lasting impact. Over the years, Ability Works has grown to process 180,000 Linkt tags annually, while providing meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities through customised tasks that match their unique cognitive and physical abilities. One of their most impressive innovations is a purpose-built robotic arm, which enables vision-impaired and intellectually disabled employees to perform tasks previously inaccessible to them. This use of technology to empower their workforce exemplifies how digital innovation can drive social change. We’re proud to have been part of an evening celebrating such forward-thinking organisations. Its events like these that serve as a strong reminder of the power of social procurement to not only deliver essential services but also create opportunities for all members of society to thrive. #ThirdSectorAwards #DigitalInnovation #AbilityWorks #Transurban #Inclusion #SocialProcurement #DisabilityEmployment #TechForGood #CommunityImpact

It's World Childless Week next week and some trailblazing organisations and individuals will be honouring their colleagues without children and promoting inclusion, understanding and belonging in the workplace. A special shout-out to EY and to Joann E. and Alison Martin-Campbell for inviting me to speak to EY on Wednesday on navigating the workplace as a childless/childfree person. At our event on September 18th, which is open to everyone at EY, we'll be breaking taboos, busting myths, breaking down barriers, sharing challenges, discussing sensitivities, raising awareness and exploring language and ways of working that include everyone - childless, childfree and single people, as well as those who are married with kids. Joann and Alison founded EY's Childfree & Childless Community to recognise diversity, promote a culture of inclusion in the workplace and raise awareness of the particular issues faced by childless and childfree colleagues. It provides a safe place for people to find belonging and to be heard and understood. Among the many topics we'll be exploring in my presentation next week is the importance of stopping and thinking about the language we are using. Could our language be hurtful or triggering to those who have a different life experience to us? Does our language include or exclude? Does it promote belonging or division? Well done to EY for leading the way on this topic in the equity, diversity and inclusion space. Is your organisation recognising World Childless Week? #childless #inclusion #diversity #motivationalspeaker ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ I am a motivational speaker and TEDx speaker specialising in mental health, wellbeing, emotional intelligence, inclusion and healthy relationships with self and others. I was Runner-Up at The Speaker Awards 2024 in the Positive Impact & Sustainability category and I pride myself on delivering talks with impact.
