#IiAS sent out recommendations on 96 #resolutions in the week of 07 June 2024 , all of which were approved There were 6 resolutions on which >50% of the #institutionalinvestors voted AGAINST, and 71 resolutions on which >90% of the institutional investors voted FOR, with 33 of these resolutions receiving 100% votes in their favour. Here at CII, some of us are greatly appreciating the detailed and insightful article by Mark Gerzon and Mesa Sebree on the transformational possibilities of facing the polycrisis/metacrisis (link to article is in comments, below.) Below are a few key quotes, and we recommend you read the entire article: “The polycrisis is not another item on a list of issues to consider; it’s a lens through which all issues are called to be considered [and] requires a fundamental shift in the mainstream narrative, consciousness, and strategy we use to deal with problems.” “One’s chosen issue(s) will inevitably be at the center of one’s strategy. Yet, in the polycrisis era, we have to organize and act with the broader awareness that our particular cause impacts, and is impacted by, all of the others.” “Ultimately, the polycrisis may best be seen as a sacred opportunity – to change our unsustainable, divided way of living and work into something more integrative, effective, and life-affirming. The chance to co-create a better future for generations to come is at our doorstep if only we choose to turn the handle, forgo ignorance, and embrace possibility.” In the more detailed recommendations (which follow an insightful description of 10 key facets of the polycrisis) Gerzon and Sebree highlight the need to think wholistically, systemically, collaboratively… to move beyond simple dualisms into both/and thinking: “Regardless of where one chooses to focus as an agent of change, a collective shift-in-action towards polycrisis consciousness would expand our way of thinking about problems from being isolated and narrow to broad-reaching and integral.” *** Here at CII, we've been focusing on just this shift toward wholeness for the last quarter-century… sharing real-life stories celebrating others’ efforts in the Tao of Democracy… bringing people together for transformative events on narrative, in the first Storyfield conference…  convening grass-roots leaders who host small-group conversations on broad systemic challenges, in the Phoenix Conversations project... and distilling underlying patterns of integrative governance in the Wise Democracy Pattern Language. On 13-14 March the Financial Services Conduct Authority’s (FSCA) 2024 Industry Conference hosted insightful discussions on the FSCA's role, initiatives, and emerging developments within the financial sector. The conference tackled hot topics like the cost-of-living crisis, market integrity, and prioritising market integrity and the urgency of removing South Africa from the FATF greylist. Discussions also delved into the structural changes introduced by the two-pot retirement savings system and their implications for policy and outcomes, building trust in the financial sector, and the power moves of top-notch leaders. 🎉💼   The conference theme was building trust in the financial sector, covering aspects such as conduct, reputation, and technology deployment.
