If you are starting your career, say you have 0-2 years of work experience, you should not entertain remote sales jobs. You should be focused on jobs that require you to go into the office at least 3 days a week, ideally 5. First off, the job market for new grads and people with a year or two of experience is brutal. You'll be more likely to land a role because most of your peers will not consider anything but remote. More importantly, you'll be much more likely to consistently develop your skills. You will learn faster. And be less likely to screw up in your role because you got distracted working from home. Most 22-24 year olds are not mature and disciplined enough to work M-F at home in a monotonous, grinding, boring SDR role. Additionally, you'll be more likely to build relationships with management. If you have a great manager it is one of the biggest hacks to career success. Being in person makes that dynamic much stronger. Does commuting suck? Yes. But it's worth it if you are serious about establishing yourself long term.

Pros and cons of a Tech Sales Career On its face, tech sales is an appealing career path: Done well, you make a lot of tech money fast. → That said, it isn’t a career for everyone. The looming specter of quota means you may be pulling weeks well over 40 hours when it’s crunch time. But if you can handle the high pressure, you’ll find yourself in an industry built on camaraderie where you can earn more than some programmers could dream of. Here are some other pros and cons to consider Pros: Opportunities for remote work. Significant upward mobility. Exciting and dynamic field. High earning potential. Cons: Possible termination for not meeting quotas. Encounter rudeness or harsh feedback from prospects. Requires technical acumen and ongoing learning. ↳ If you’re prepared to take on the challenge and leverage your skills in a booming industry. 🤝Let’s connect and explore how you can transition into this exciting career! #TechSales #CareerTransition #SalesCareer #TechIndustry

I have a friend who needs a little help, so I thought I’d ask my network: 🖤 Any companies hiring for an SDR role remotely/globally? Little about my friend: - wicked smart - great with people - passionate - fast learner - really hungry to land her first sales gig What she’s looking for: - a job that’s remote (and will hire in south africa) - $45-55k OTE - solid training & enablement (she’s a ball of clay y’all- mold her) - strong leadership - room to grow 🌱 If you are hiring or you know of any companies hiring and willing to take a shot - i’ll personally introduce you and vouche for her character:) Can you drop a comment or shoot me a DM if you want an intro? Would you ♻️repost or tag a company/hiring manager to help spread the word? She’s someone worth helping and I am trying to prove to her that a network is one of the most powerful career hacks out there. Please don’t make me look dumb LinkedIn pals 😅 #jobseeker #sdr #firsttimesalesjob

Remote sales success isn't about luck - it's about strategy. Top performers in our field: 1. Build relationships with recruiters for first dibs on great offers 2. Position themselves as partners, not just salespeople 3. Are obsessed with constant improvement 4. Design their work around their ideal lifestyle They're not playing the "interested" game on every job post. They're creating opportunities.

When you work for a small company, you get the chance to wear many hats, and one I’m very familiar with is sales. Even though I haven’t held a direct quota in a while, I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities. Last night over dinner with friends, one landed right in my lap. A friend of mine, the IT manager at a mid-sized local company, shared how their West Coast satellite office had recently faced issues that required sending out a Network Admin on short notice—an expensive move due to the lack of on-site support. My ears perked up, and I immediately saw an opportunity. I shared how we could easily manage this type of remote support and possibly assist with other needs down the road. They’re currently using a company that isn’t delivering, so this felt like the perfect fit. Today, I’ll be passing this along to my sales team to follow up when the time is right. Always having a mindset of helping your company with sales efforts can only help you in the long run. After all, in one way or another, we’re all in sales! Good luck out there and keep on plugging your turn will be coming soon enough. #sales #opportunities #jobsearch #staypositive #careers #jobhunt #networking #careersearch #justone

I'm coming to LinkedIn hat in hand regarding difficult issues of employment owing to key disabilities I've had most of my adult life. Until recently, I was having the time of my life as a trans woman working in retail cosmetics sales. Previous sales experience had me selling newspaper display advertising. I also have a background in journalism with an emphasis in arts & technology and business reporting. At the retail sales job, I had a PTSD moment, not with a customer fortunately but with another co-worker and I then was able to discover that I have occasion to experience traumatic response in situations of conflict. Now "bad stuff about work" hardly seems like what you talk about on LinkedIn but I'm looking for an upshot. Rather than fight my disabilities, I'd prefer to work with them and stick with sales which come naturally to me but instead be on the phone doing tech sales of one kind or another. I have no solid background in selling tech or in selling software, but my background as tech columnist may make it possible for me to sell tech and software to warm leads if given the opportunity to have some. How do I shop myself for entry level tech/software sales as a remote worker with no clear tech sales background but a lot of experience that could be shifted around for the sake of a first time hire? Are there networking groups here I should join? I'm tired of hiding from the fact that my issues do make in person difficult work difficult and that its perhaps time to seek out all remote work all of the time and hopefully in a sales career like tech or software (or by all means, you fill in the blank) where I can make a decent paycheck and not feel entirely left behind.
