As with most tech companies, budgets are tight, and hiring has slowed down, which is affecting everyone, especially interns who are looking for jobs this summer. Northeastern University, where I went to school, has a co-op program. For the first time that I can remember, even computer science majors, who two years ago would have received multiple offers, are struggling to get an interview. We recently made an offer to a Northeastern University student, and I believe that everyone should find ways to hire interns this summer, even if it is just part-time. Even in hard economic times, we should all invest in the future. Hiring interns is an excellent way to ensure that the next generation of tech workers gets exposed to our field while they are still in school. #co ops #interns #northeasternuniversity
100%, wouldn’t be where I am today if you didn’t hire me as a coop at resilient!
Well said - gene! Infusion of new free views PoVs & bold ideas are only possible this way. This is the oxygen organizations need.
1000%. Even at UW Seattle, I have seen Masters Engineering students having a hard time finding internships! Thanks for hiring interns from Northeastern!!
Gene, great post and great move by ThreatX. Co-op was one of the best/most beneficial experiences I had at NU. Companies should jump at the opportunity to hire from such a vast talent pool.
Plus interns bring fresh eyes and energy! Low risk!
Agreed!!!
