SEBI’s New Cybersecurity Framework: A Game Changer for Boutique SOC Firms in India SEBI’s latest directive mandating all registered entities to establish fully operational Security Operations Centres (SOCs) by April 1, 2025, is a significant development for India's cybersecurity landscape. This move not only strengthens our digital defenses but also opens up tremendous opportunities for smaller boutique SOC firms and startups in India. With the need for specialized cybersecurity skills rising, this regulation will create a surge in demand for managed SOC services, providing boutique firms with a unique chance to showcase their agility and niche expertise. For businesses without the capacity to set up full-fledged in-house operations, outsourcing to these specialized SOCs becomes a strategic necessity. Moreover, this mandate is set to spur job creation across the sector. We can expect a rise in opportunities for cybersecurity analysts, incident responders, and compliance professionals, further empowering the Indian talent pool. This is an exciting time for cybersecurity in India as we look forward to seeing the innovation, growth, and enhanced digital resilience this framework will catalyze. #Cybersecurity #SEBI #SOC #IndiaTech #JobCreation #CyberResilience https://lnkd.in/gU8qPGba

This story of India as the leading cybersecurity CoE for global majors is just unfolding. The potential is immense and in this journey, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement will be key to becoming fit-for-future…
India's position as a top choice for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) is not only well-established but has been reiterated consistently over the years. The narrative for its success however, has shifted significantly. From cost arbitrage and talent availability to truly being recognised as a global leader across domains. From being support systems to multinationals, to steering their global success stories. I am particularly excited about the potential India holds to become a cybersecurity powerhouse for global players. As our recent report highlights, in the last couple of years, more than 150 multinationals have set up their GCCs in India. Of these, several have emerged as leaders in the realm of cybersecurity, helping their parent organisations rethink risks. While there are many reasons for this growth, government interventions promoting cybersecurity like The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 and The National Cybersecurity Reference Framework (NCRF) are key drivers. This story of India as the leading cybersecurity CoE for global majors is just unfolding. The potential is immense and in this journey, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement will be key to becoming fit-for-future. Are we ready to tackle the rising tide of cyber-attacks and fraud in India? In the first quarter of this year, cyber attacks on Indian websites surged by a staggering 261%, according to Indusface data. Recent reports reveal that nearly 71% of firms have faced business email compromises, 65% have encountered social engineering attacks, and over 54% have dealt with identity theft. What’s fueling this increase in cyber threats? Limited investments in governance protocols are a significant factor.
