The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the player draft for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL-10) will take place in the port city of Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025. This marks the first time Gwadar will host a PSL event, underscoring the city’s growing importance on both cultural and economic fronts. The PCB revealed that the decision to host the draft in Gwadar aims to promote cricket in the region and inspire the younger generation to pursue the sport professionally. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the significance of Gwadar’s stunning coastline and strategic importance, describing the event as an opportunity to showcase the city’s cultural and economic value. “Gwadar is at the heart of Pakistan’s future,” Naqvi said. “By hosting the PSL player draft here, we aim to highlight its significance while celebrating the unity that cricket brings to our nation.” Salman Naseer, PSL CEO, echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in expanding PSL’s reach across Pakistan. “This initiative will inspire young cricketers from Balochistan and beyond to dream big,” he stated. Details regarding player retention and relegation will be announced at the end of December, setting the stage for another thrilling season of Pakistan’s biggest cricketing event.
