How I prepare myself for my first startup date: For my recent startup intro meeting, it took me 4 hours to prep. That's all I needed for: - Understanding their industry jargon. - Checking out the website and social media pages - Figuring out who their competitors are and what they are doing differently. - Preparing tons of questions to ask - both professionally and work culture-related questions.

How I grew my LinkedIn audience by 116% in 11 months, by an engineer: 1. Pick a unique, hard goal. I decided to attempt launching 4 startups in 4 quarters. 2. Tell everyone about it. 3. In the beginning, nothing you post will get traction because you haven't achieved anything. 4. When I had zero revenue, I had zero credibility. Makes sense. 5. Make progress against the goal and post about it. I post about closing customers and other big milestones. 6. Credibility goes up, audience goes up. 7. Make friends. 8. Keep going. Don't overcomplicate it. People want to follow unique adventures. Document yours and grow.

I’ve contacted 1000+ stakeholders at top startups globally, and here’s what I’ve learned: Over the past few months, I’ve explored several avenues—designing, programming, and diving into new skills— it's just what I enjoy instead of being shackled to a single task. But what I’ve learned the most from has been outreach. Noting them down here: 1/Build relationships: The best conversations are rooted in trust. Focus on connection first, outcomes later. 2/Simple is everything: This might be personal, but I’ve noticed I get far more positive replies when I skip the clickbait and stick to straightforward, to-the-point conversations. You need to have enough faith in your product to let its value shine—without sounding like a snake oil salesman. 3/A “no” today isn’t forever : Timing is critical. Some of the best results came after months of follow-up. Stay persistent, but respectful. 4/Personalization works wonders : I understand this might not be feasible for everyone as this is particularly time-consuming, but think long-term and you'll realise that it saves you a lot of time by driving higher conversions, atleast for us! Let's hope I can refine this list further in the coming months!

#ProductHunt #StartupJourney #FeedbackWanted Hey everyone! 🎉 I just took the plunge and launched my political startup on Product Hunt today. As a solo non-technical founder without any outside capital, it feels a bit like tossing my hat into the ring and seeing what happens. Given how much folks love discussing politics – especially around the Thanksgiving table – I thought this was the right time to make my move. Right now, my top priorities are: Finding technical collaborators: I know that without the right team, it’ll be tough to grow. Gathering constructive feedback: Understanding user needs is crucial for refining my idea. I’m already reaching out to everyone I interviewed during my customer research and sharing the launch in a startup Slack channel I'm part of. But I’d love your insights on how to really make the most out of this launch day! 🌟 Here are a few challenges that often pop up for founders like me during their Product Hunt launch: Visibility: Without a network or ... What Essential Steps Should I Take After Launching on Product Hunt? Answers: https://lnkd.in/g-u-DsTf

Is chasing perfection holding your startup back? Many founders delay launching because they’re striving for the “perfect” product. But here’s the hard truth: no product is perfect from the start, and waiting too long can be costly. Consider this: 1. Are you missing out on valuable feedback? The longer you wait to launch, the longer it takes to learn what users actually want. For Example, LinkedIn launched with basic features, but they quickly iterated based on user feedback, growing into the platform we know today. 2. Is perfection costing you opportunities? Every day spent tweaking details is a day competitors could be capturing market share. For Example, Facebook started as a simple college network. It wasn’t perfect, but by launching early, they secured a user base and expanded from there. 3. Are you stuck in analysis paralysis? Striving for perfection can lead to endless tweaking, preventing you from ever launching. For Example, Slack wasn’t the polished tool we know today when it first launched. It was a basic internal tool that they improved over time based on user needs. Don’t let perfection hold you back. Get your MVP out there, gather feedback, and iterate. Progress beats perfection every time. #MVP #StartupWisdom #ProductDevelopment

“Why do they say operations freeze during the holidays? I don’t believe that to be true” That’s what our CEO, Juan Manuel Barrero, said earlier this month, and we couldn’t agree more. Founders never really hit pause 🔥 If you’re here, scrolling LinkedIn during the holidays, it’s probably because you’re already planning how to take your startup to the next level (or you just got bored on TikTok) 💜 That’s why we’re thrilled to give you early access to Lazo One—our soon-to-be-launched platform designed to streamline your fundraising workflow (and much more we won’t spoil just yet). The last two weeks have been launch weeks (The Club and Newsary 📣), and it's not the huge milestones you'd expect 😵💫 Perfect for a Friday's week in review ❤️ - One recommendation 🔥: I thought I hated sales. But after Sean Grealy 💰🪓's free Founder Hour workshop yesterday, I learned I actually just hate bad sales - but like bad PR, there is another better way to do it. Who knew Sales and PR were actually so similar?! -Research your audience - don't spam - add value Like so many things in startup, 1 hour learning about it will save 100 hours figuring things out for yourself 🔥 💯 recommend. - One key insight from launch week: Launch week is something I thought was a huge achievement, but it's actually just a step up. I'd say it's when the work really starts 😅🚀 While I did celebrate with bubbles at home, and we've agreed to ring the Slack bell at each first 50 users (only 8 🔔 left 👀😉), it is been as nerve-racking as exhilarating. Because now is where you get to really make a difference. What's next?! For us, it's new premium PR flows launching next week, including: - investor update, bad news, media intros - launching our launch offer - sealing partnership with VCs to get their founders onto our platform - working on partnerships with media and startup experts - One Ask: How do you best record and use user feedback in the weeks post-launch? - The One I'm reading 🤓 No business or self-development book this week. I've been working so many hours around the launch, I didn't feel my brain could cope with any more learning. - The one to thanks Everyone who has shared their incredible advice on how to be a founder sustainably with me yesterday. I'm super grateful! 📣 #weekinreview #friday #startuplife #buildinpublic

A new week in December means one thing: Progress over perfection. How did you spend your weekend? A little time to recharge or did you sneak in some planning? Today, let’s focus on updating your personal brand to showcase your strengths. ✅ Day 5 Task: Polish up your LinkedIn headline. Your headline isn’t just your job title, it’s your hook. Make it crystal clear who you help and how you bring value. For example: Instead of “Web3 Founder,” try this: “Helping Web3 startups drive user adoption through smart growth strategies.” Your goal? Make someone stop scrolling and say, “I need to talk to this person.” Let me know: How does your headline look right now? Drop it below or tag me for feedback. Let’s start the week strong! #PersonalBranding #Web3Founders #DecemberGrowth
