❓DID YOU KNOW❓ By the time many military children turn 18, they have moved on average of 6-12 times? This is at least once every 3 years - which is the average time military families stay in one location. However, this is not always the average. Some military families move each year for various reasons. #graceofamilitarychildandlife #militarychildren #militarychild #militarybrat #militarybrats #armybrat #navybrat #marinebrat #airforcebrat #spaceforcebrat #coastguardbrat

So insightful. The best plans really are forged in simplicity.
A reminder to anyone who's been asked to draft a comms plan or campaign plan today- the best plans are usually the most simple. It was one of the most complex military operations ever undertaken, with 160,000 troops crossing the Channel on a single day, accompanied by hundreds of warships and aircraft. But a handwritten note believed to have been drafted a month or two before the D-Day landings shows that General Montgomery’s battle plan boiled down to a single piece of paper. "The key note of everything to be SIMPLICITY"

Just this. Keep it simple folks. All comms, as simple as it can be. Especially comms plans. I never even used to write comms plans - now I do them for two reasons: 1) Because I’ve become extremely forgetful and with a huge workload, spinning multiple plates, am likely to forget what needs doing if it’s not written down and planned in to the forward look/grid/schedule, then it might not happen. 2) because non-comms people sometimes just need to see it written down. We’re still a “new” profession. A profession that often everyone thinks that can just do. So writing it down, breaking it down, explaining the dos and don’ts, the why, the why not etc, can sometimes just be enough to remind those not in the comms profession that they’re in a safe pair of hands 🤲
