Before a crowd in Toronto last week, Imagine Canada CEO Bruce MacDonald launched the organization’s latest initiative—a new corporate social responsibility network called PRISM. ✨ The new program is a reboot of the charity association’s Caring Companies initiative, which since 1988 has offered certification to medium and large businesses that contribute at least one% of pre-tax profits in support of community initiatives. 📊 Research has shown certified companies give more: A 2018 Imagine Canada report found Caring Companies contributed about 1.9% of pre-tax profits, whereas non-certified competitors offered just 0.4%. 🔗 Read our latest article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gzzywb88 Gabe Oatley is Future of Good’s editorial fellow on transforming funding models. #corporatesocialresponsibility #csr #futureofgood #communityimpact #businessethics #imaginecanada #prism #socialgood #givingback #philanthropy #sustainability #caringcompanies #socialimpact #corporategiving #nonprofits

🌍✨ **The International Day of Charity: Beyond the Act of Giving** ✨🌍 Today, we commemorate The International Day of Charity, a day established to not only celebrate the generous acts of giving but to spark meaningful conversations around why philanthropy, volunteerism, and compassion are essential threads in the fabric of our global community. Charity is more than just reaching into our pockets; it’s about cultivating an ethos of empathy, solidarity, and action. This day urges us to think critically about the impact we can have, individually and collectively. 🧐 **Thought-provoking Questions to Mull Over:** 1. **The Ripple Effect**: How can small acts of kindness create larger waves of change in society? Have you ever witnessed or been part of a ripple effect? Share your stories! 2. **Philanthropy Beyond Money**: In what non-monetary ways can we contribute to charitable causes? Think in terms of time, skills, advocacy, etc. 3. **CSR and Corporations**: How can businesses integrate sustainable charity initiatives into their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts beyond just writing checks? 4. **Volunteering and Identity**: What role has volunteerism played in shaping your personal identity and worldview? How has it changed your perspectives on global issues? 5. **Long-Term vs. Short-Term Aid**: While immediate relief is crucial, how can charity efforts be structured to create enduring, positive impacts? Is there a balance between addressing urgent needs and fostering long-term solutions? 6. **Charity vs. Social Justice**: How do we discern the fine line between charity and perpetuating dependency? Should our focus shift towards systemic change and social justice, and how can these approaches intersect? As we engage in dialogue on this day, let’s challenge ourselves to think beyond the surface. Let’s envision charity not just as a momentary act but as an integral pathway towards building more inclusive, resilient, and compassionate societies. 👇 **Share your thoughts, stories, and insights below! How has charity impacted your life, and how do you think we can all make a bigger difference?** 🌱✨ #InternationalDayOfCharity #GlobalSolidarity #Philanthropy #Volunteerism #EmpathyInAction #SocialChange

#Smallcharitiesweek This week, we celebrate all the brilliant #smallcharities who are a lifeline to hundreds and thousands of vulnerable individuals across the country. I, for one, am always amazed at the passion and commitment of those who lead and work in #smallcharities because let me tell you, it ain't easy working in one! And so you will not be surprised to know that I feel extremely honored to have had the opportunity to support a number of #smallcharities over the past few years through our #sector specific #resiliencebuildingprogrammes. As the #funding landscape becomes increasingly complicated to navigate through, these #bespoke #resiliencebuilding programmesare critical to build the #skills and #infrastructure of those leading #smallcharities. The impact of these programmes has been extremely positive and I am so proud of leading these #communitygroups through this process of change and growth. Here is to celebrating the small charities who provide life saving support to their communities! I hear you and I am grateful for you. Empowering Non-Profits for Lasting Change: Discover F.A. Consulting 🌟 Hello LinkedIn community! I’m Fabianna Alexander, founder of F.A. Consulting, a Barbados-based social impact firm dedicated to empowering non-profit organizations. Our focus is on charities, NGOs, CSOs, and other non-profits, helping them amplify their impact and establish sustainable practices. We also collaborate with governments and the private sector to strengthen the non-profit ecosystem and address key challenges. With over 28 years of work experience, including 17 years in the non-profit and development sector, my own background as a migrant to Barbados has deeply influenced my commitment to civic engagement and social justice. Through my past experiences in the private sector, international and regional development including regional health economics and anti-stigma campaigns for marginalized populations and grassroots communities, I’ve learned the power of resilience and opportunity and the difference this can make in people’s lives. As the former CEO of the ASPIRE Barbados, my mission has been to nurture non-profits to be both impactful and to become independent organisations who understand their value and can operate on more equitable footing. At F.A. Consulting, we blend innovative methodologies with traditional approaches to create bespoke solutions for our clients.
