If you work for a large Consultancy it's easy to feel like a number or small cog in a very large wheel. This was just the conversation I was having with the Director of Midlands based Structual and Civil Engineering firm today. Sometimes you even get pigeon holed or known for a particular niche (not always bad - depends on what it is). Then there are the clients who you start to develop a relationship with who suddenly get reassigned. This doesn't happen here. The Engineers work with and develop long-term client relationships. One of the many reasons this particular firm are successful and are winning work against the big players (not usually on price) is that they are not 'risk averse' - they work with a client rather than quote the contract - they can have flexibility. They pride themselves in helping their engineers achieve their Part 3 - the variety of work they undertake is as broad as it is deep - never worked on a school or a tower block for example - here's your chance to learn. They could really do with some help - so if you are NW or Midlands based and are A Senior Structural Engineer or A Graduate with c2yrs post qualification experience And any of this rings true/strikes a chord/appeals Get in touch and let's see if it's the right fit for you baz@molerecruitment.com 07966 132202

🌟 12 Memories to Celebrate 2024: Day 4 🌟 - Engineering Excellence in Action: The Pont des Piles Project Building the Pont des Piles is no small feat – it’s a true technical challenge! This impressive project features a 1,625-ton steel arch supported by 3,500m³ of concrete foundations, spanning a 30-meter-deep river. The intricate assembly involved over 30,000 bolts, 150- and 300-ton cranes, and a talented team of collaborators. A huge thanks to Les Structures Universelles Inc. for their outstanding work erecting this incredible structure! Their expertise shines through every bolt, beam, and lift. This project is part of our extensive civil engineering portfolio, spanning coast to coast across Canada, where we continually push the boundaries of innovation and technical excellence. Here’s to pushing boundaries and building connections that last. Stay tuned tomorrow for another highlight from our year! What project impressed you the most this year? Expedition IPC is thrilled to have supported civil engineering contractor GRAHAM Group in deploying the 2024 Construction News award-nominated Tiger Team approach to improve productivity in complex engineering applications. 🔧📊 Beyond cost savings of £230k, the multidisciplinary team (including Anker Schroeder - ASDO forged steel solutions and Expedition Engineering Ltd’s ed mccann, Clotilde Robin, Rachel De Matei, and Andi Troci) significantly reduced the exposure to H&S hazards and saved close to 50t of carbon - highlighting that productivity goes beyond reducing cost and duration. This structured approach achieved remarkable improvements, extending into safeguarding the environment and the workforce's health to achieve sustainable productivity improvement. We look forward to continuing to support GRAHAM in their intentional and pragmatic approach to innovation. 🔗 Read ‘A Tiger Team approach to getting it right’ by Emer Murnaghan OBE, Innovation Director at Graham, on the GIRI (Get it Right Initiative) website - https://lnkd.in/dfKmxyPy. Is LIEBIG’s unique post-installation solution challenging cast-in anchoring dominance? Cast-in place anchoring has for a long time been the go-to approach for structural engineers when considering applications into concrete, due to the perceived performance benefits. But could the LIEBIG Ultraplus be challenging this supposition? The recent Herring Bridge project over the River Yare in Great Yarmouth provided the context for this debate. These unique - and arguably the largest heavy-duty undercut anchors ever used in a civil engineering project - were deployed within the cofferdams of the £121m double bascule bridge to anchor the machinery and mechanisms required to lift, hold, and lower each leaf of the bridge into concrete. Demonstrating that post-installation anchors can offer equivalent performance whilst also being better suited to the complexities of modern construction processes. Read more: Link in the comments 👇
