Business higher-ed friends, this week marks my first year with Amplified Planning! We're hosting a webinar tomorrow to talk about how The Externship can provide experiential learning opportunities to your students interested in careers in financial planning. This year marks the 5th cohort of The Externship, and we have 3,200 alumni who range from students to career changers to veterans and current financial planners. The Externship is a requirement for new financial planners in many firms. Externs earn CFP Board experience hours, an eMoney certification, and learn from more than 50 experts. Many universities count it as internship credit, and the program is breaking down barriers-to-entry into the profession, especially for students who can't afford to stop working for a traditional internship.

3 Things My Interns Taught Me This Year: -Support Their Boundary-Setting: Notice those small moments where they work past fear of disappointing you or anyone else in order to set a boundary, and celebrate that moment! That moment may have taken so much energy to work up to, so let them know you value their effort in doing so. There are too many of us who struggle with setting boundaries, so it is always a great moment when our young people test this out. -Assume the Best: Okay, I already knew this, but I am always appreciative of those moments when you assume anyone you are working with has great intention when something does not go perfectly, and then you find out context that you were correct. We all just want to do our best! -Prioritize Space for Creative Freedom: If it were not for this, allowing my interns to have some decision-making power in how we navigate certain strategies, we would not have been able to create such meaningful connections with students on this campus. So thank you to my interns, enjoy the remainder of your summer, and I will see you in the Fall!

- BACK TO SCHOOL - As #summer draws to a close, we are sad to see all of our 2024 Summer Wealth Management Interns go back to their #educational homes for the coming #school year. We had some incredible and #ambitious young #professionals in our office this summer, and we know that they will all do amazing things in their lives.
