I had one big mistake that held me back in my career. Don't let this happen to you. It is obsessing over my weakness. I used to believe the path to success was to become the perfect, well-rounded employee. That meant zeroing in on every flaw, constantly trying to fix myself, aiming for perfectionism. But here's what I learned: ↳ Playing to Your Strengths Matters More I shifted my focus to what I naturally excel at, investing energy where it truly counts. ↳ Teamwork Makes the Dream Work I embraced the power of collaboration, seeking out teammates whose skills complement my own. ↳ Acceptance Is Key Understanding and accepting my limitations freed me from the endless cycle of self-critique. The real game-changer was when I recognized that excellence isn't about being flawless - but about shining where it matters most. Double down on your strengths. Find teammates with strengths that are your weakness. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼-𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 "𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀" 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁. Your greatest potential lies in leveraging what you're already good at. Does this resonate with you? ------ Share ♻️ this tactic if you found it helpful.

Even when it feels like nothing is going the way you wanted or planned, it's usually going exactly how and when it should. Do you ever notice how when looking back in retrospect you're often able to see that there was something better for you than what you wanted or planned? Or how the lesson you had to learn the hard way was able to successfully set you up for what came next in your current role? Look for the lessons in every experience and you will not only find them, but you will often see how things are happening exactly when and how they should for your next level of success and scale.

The biggest challenge we all face during these periods is staying focused on the right things. So, from experience, these questions have been a guide; • How will I create value? • How am I expected to behave? • Whose support is critical? • How will I get some early wins? • What skills do I need to develop to excel in this role? And for best practice, its always good to set aside 30 minutes at the end of each week to reflect on these questions and whether the answers are still clear or have changed in any way.
