In a grueling three-week contest of mental and physical endurance, Gukesh Dommaraju triumphed over China’s Ding Liren. This victory places Gukesh Dommaraju ahead of the legendary Garry Kasparov as the youngest to reach this milestone. This moment reminds us of the video of an 11-year-old Gukesh Dommaraju. In this clip, the young boy, not yet a #grandmaster, shares his ambition during an interview with IM Sagar Shah of ChessBase India. Fast forward to about 7 about years, now Gukesh Doomaraju has achieved his dream, becoming the youngest chess champion in the world at 18 years of age. Every move Gukesh made during the championship in Singapore seemed purposeful. From the way he walked into the playing hall, unfazed by cheering fans, to the moment he sat at the #chessboard, shutting his eyes in quiet concentration, it was a masterclass in focus. We want to take this moment to personally congratulate Gukesh Dommaraju for conquering the chessboard and making India proud! Aaj shaam ki chai humari taraf se! #chess #chessbase #champion #competition #India #freshleaf

🤔 What If Gukesh Had Lost? A Hypothetical Chessquake 🤔 As an Indian I cannot be proud enough of Gukesh's achievements but wanted to have a different take on this and here is how- ✅𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱: Gukesh, at 18, had the chance to become the youngest-ever Classical World Chess Champion. A loss would have delayed this historic opportunity, as no player younger than him is currently in contention for future championships. ✅𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲: His immediate opportunity for a rematch would depend on qualifying through the 2025-2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament, a highly competitive process. This could add at least two years to his timeline. ✅𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺: Losing might have slowed his momentum as the youngest-ever FIDE Candidates winner and the world's youngest title challenger. However, it wouldn't diminish his achievements, as he has already established himself as a top contender globally. ✅𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀: India’s rising influence in global chess, heavily boosted by Gukesh’s successes, would still continue. His performance has already ended Viswanathan Anand’s 37-year reign as India’s top-rated player. #Gukesh #ChessChampion #WorldChess #YoungestChampion #IndianChess #GukeshD #HypotheticalChess #NeverGiveUp #WhatIfScenarios

India are the champions of the FIDE Chess Olympiad! Here’s a story of how an India-first mentality of players led us to this remarkable achievement. To give you some context, the chess Olympiad team consists of five players, and the respective associations must negotiate with these players to represent their country. Over the years, we’ve seen many players opting out of the Olympiad. For instance, Hikaru Nakamura recently chose not to be part of the USA team (had he played, it might have been a tough battle for India). India has always been able to assemble its strongest team for the competition and this year was no exception and this was a pivotal part in the success. Another example is Ding Liren, the current world champion, who decided to sit out against Gukesh during the India vs. China match to avoid revealing any strategies for his upcoming World Championship match. Gukesh, being the challenger of the world championship match, could have done the same, but he risked some of his personal glory in choosing to play the olympiad match. In the end, what truly matters is that we are the champions, and this is something every one of us can be proud of. #chess #olympiad #gukesh #chessolympiad2024 ChessBase India Chess.com Xplore by XLRI Kaushik Ghosh Sukanya Chatterjee

🌟 Celebrating Our Chess Champions!🌟 India’s young chess prodigies are making waves on the global stage, bringing home gold and glory! Let’s take a moment to celebrate their incredible achievements: 🎉 D. Gukesh from Tamil Nadu became India’s youngest Grandmaster at just 12 years old and is now the youngest challenger for the world title, winning gold this year! His dedication and strategic brilliance are truly inspiring. 🏅 Arjun from Telangana also snagged gold and earned his Grandmaster title at the age of 14. His journey is a testament to hard work and perseverance. 👑 Our girls are shining too! Divya Deshmukh and Vantika Agarwal brought home double gold, showcasing their exceptional talent and determination. 👫 And let’s not forget the sibling duo from Tamil Nadu! The brother earned his Grandmaster title at 12, while the sister became India’s third woman Grandmaster. Their achievements highlight the power of family support and shared passion. However, it’s ironic that these remarkable achievements haven’t received the same media attention as cricket or other popular sports in India. Despite their world-class accomplishments, our chess champions often remain under the radar. This disparity highlights the need for broader recognition and support for diverse sports in our country. These young champions are not just winning titles; they are inspiring a new generation of chess enthusiasts. Let’s celebrate their success and cheer them on as they continue to make us proud! 🏆😊 #india #culture #success #management #motivation

🏆 History Made in Chess! 🏆 Congratulations to Dommaraju Gukesh for becoming the youngest World Chess Champion in history by defeating Ding Liren. This monumental achievement not only inspires millions but also underscores the growing synergy between youth and mastery in chess. This resonates deeply with me, as my master’s thesis focused on using YOLO neural networks for recognizing and tracking chess piece movements—a technology applicable to chess-playing robots. Gukesh’s triumph exemplifies how innovation and dedication lead to greatness, whether in chess or technology! #Chess #AI #Innovation #YOLO #Robotics #MachineLearning
