This video is perfect example which can be used as study material.  We are lucky to catch this video which belongs to very rare incident and almost impossible to simulate. This phenomenon starts after fuel changed to MGO. Than, fuel cam abnormal alarm raised due to one cylinder’s roller moving to astern while engine running to ahead.When we receive this video for remote assistance, we suspect fuel pump started to scuffing and that force pushing the roller to astern position and advise them immediately stop the engine and lift the fuel pump until arrival to port prevent any further damage. When we attend to vessel at port for troubleshooting, found scuffing on fuel pump plunger and barrel, condition of the plunger can be seen upper left side of the video. This is good explanation how reversing take place due to force on the roller mechanism and how roller damages happening which is sometimes also extend to fuel cam damages. www.vitatr.com #Reversing #Fuel Cam #Roller
