Two major pieces of EV news: Revel and Uber have made a first-of-its-kind partnership to accelerate EV infrastructure and electrify the rideshare industry in NYC and other big cities -AND- Revel today announced that by LGA we’re building the largest fast charging station (48 stalls!) by any airport in the country. What this partnership means: -Uber has guaranteed demand at existing and future Revel stations, making ours the most utilized charging stations in America. This agreement gives Revel the confidence to accelerate our plans and build our public charging network way more aggressively -Uber will share ride data with Revel to help us plan future station buildouts -Revel will offer Uber rideshare drivers a discount on charging of up to 25% -We’re starting in New York and will bring this model to SF, LA, Chicago, and more cities Together, Revel and Uber are giving cities the recipe to unlock EV adoption. It wouldn’t be possible without New York’s leadership requiring this industry go all-EV by 2030.
It’s been really impressive to watch you all pivot into a better market with conviction!
Congrats to you and the Uber team! Let’s stay in touch- curious to see what you learn as you deploy.
This is an extraordinary win-win-win for EV, ridesharing, and New Yorkers. Can’t wait to see more.
