Long Wait Times is a Sign of Poor Management! ⏳ Long waits can happen due to a busy kitchen, poor prep, or a slow-moving culture. If the team isn’t rushing, food takes longer. #restaurantmanagement #kitchenoperations #foodservice #customerexperience #efficiency

Running restaurants can be a lot like being a parent. No one tells you how hard it's going to be 🫠 How many things you have to juggle. The emotions you have to manage. The curveballs that will be thrown. Every, single, day. Not to mention the sheer workload. Next thing you know, you're deep in the weeds and can't see your way out. 🌿 Here's how to take the first step to get yourself out of the weeds, reduce overwhelm, and have a more manageable workload: https://lnkd.in/eQ-yGwXF #outofthweeds #restaurant

Do you enjoy eating on your own in a restaurant? I used to shudder at the thought of eating in a restaurant on my own! The reality of traveling as much as I do for events has meant I've had to write a different story about eating out alone 😅 Here's my new story... ✍️ Why not see it as precious 'me time?' ✍️ Why not use it as an opportunity to connect with the waiters? ✍️ Why not make it a time to try a new cocktail? ✍️ Why not get out your comfort zone and discover it's not that scary? Here's to turning things that make you shudder into opportunities to shift your mindset! #writeadifferentstory #embracelife #travelforwork #worklifebalance

“I saw on the sign outside that you have walk-ins available. Do you have a table for one please?” Waiter: “We have a table, yes. For how many people?” “Just me, thanks 😊.” Dining alone can feel a bit awkward, especially in a world that often values group meals and social gatherings, particularly at this time of year. The world may tell you that eating alone means you’re isolated or lonely and I thought it might feel uncomfortable, but in truth, it can be an opportunity to honour your own company. A solo lunch date actually felt empowering and like a small act of self-care, a time to reconnect with myself. I chose a table in the quiet bar area of the restaurant, this let me enjoy my meal without the pressure of being watched. It allowed me to enjoy my thoughts, without the noise of external expectations or interruptions. So, if you’re ever thinking of heading out for a solo lunch or coffee, don’t shy away from it. There's something satisfying in carving out time and space for yourself. It can be a quick and easy way to recharge and enjoy a bit of peace during a busy time. It’s a simple way to make time for yourself, and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need. 🍽️✨ #SoloLunch #SelfCare #AloneButNotLonely

If we are friends/work friends/colleagues, you know I am a consumer of goods and services and love to build community and influence over a good meal. It is also a time not to work and talk about all of those fun topics that aren’t covered in 5 day work weeks. I love getting to know the restaurant, the staff and you can count on me for a healthy tip and proper dining out etiquette. But let’s be real, the dining experience has changed. Blame it on a pandemic, the Bear, reduction in workforce, supply shortages, it is not the same. The moment you sit down, the service is about getting you up and out. Staff is lingering, waiting for your last bite, wiping crumbs on your lap from cleaning tables while you sit, cocktails are average, no recommendations from the restaurant and so on. My daughter often goes with me, so the bar service isn’t always an option, my preferred seating because of reasons from above. But in a world where a good meal out can be critical to community, building, mental health (I just need a moment of not doing something around something like eating that I have to do 3 times a day), the industry is failing the only people that can save it. The restaurant goers. Below is a picture from a friends house that I prefer eating out at every Friday, for Pizza Fridays. Everyone is welcome. We grab a beverage (not required) and build community weekly. If you don’t show up, people are checking for you. The fresh pizzas are incredible. And where I have never felt forced to leave. If you made it to the end of my rant, drop a restaurant that proves me wrong.
