A couple of thoughts on this huge news in the retail level services landscape: There is now a vacuum for one of the large brokerage companies outside the current top four (soon to be top three) to fill a major void for their brands and new clients if they offer retail level services in addition to headquarters calls. Who will be the first to step up? Will brands that felt they were underserved with retail level services by these organizations before be further pushed down in importance with this merger? I have recently returned from watching some of the Olympics in Paris and was in awe of some of the amazing achievements we got to see. In some cases, the difference between gold and silver was so marginal that it made it all the more exciting. The Vini & Real Madrid Ballon d'Or Saga: A Lesson in Mindset? ⚽ Despite Vini Jr. having a good season and being a key asset for Real Madrid, he was a fan favorite to win the Ballon d'Or yesterday. However, one thing I couldn't wrap my head around was his reaction when he found out he didn’t win the award. Not only did he skip the Ballon d'Or event, but the entire Real Madrid team did too. Vini Jr. placed second, with Jude Bellingham coming in third. This move was clearly a statement from the club, showing their support for Vini and their belief that he was robbed of this honor. Honestly, I was shocked. As a professional, you can’t behave this way—both as a team and as an individual. If the situation were reversed, Rodri would have still attended the event. Supporting someone else who wins the Ballon d'Or requires mental strength, not just physical. It’s crucial to acknowledge that sometimes you need to put in more work. Everyone faces tough paths, and that's part of the journey. Maybe Vini is meant to win it in another year. Trust the process! Vini Jr. is a baller with incredible skills. He’s also quick, intelligent, and truly bleeds for Los Blancos. However, he does lack discipline on the field at times. He needs to step up as a leader, not complain if things don’t go his way. If he can make that change, I believe he has the potential to be a complete baller. This weekend the Argos are off to the Grey Cup! (For those not aware, it is like the SuperBowl for the CFL here in Canada).
