Remember, Remember the 5th of November! As we approach Guy Fawkes Night, we know that many of you are looking forward to celebrating with friends and family. To help make this a safe and enjoyable evening for everyone, here are some important tips and reminders: 🌟 Be Considerate of Your Neighbours: Not everyone loves the loud bangs and flashes of fireworks, especially young children, the elderly, and pets. Consider using low-noise or silent fireworks for a quieter celebration. 🐾 Keep Pets Safe: Firework displays can be stressful for pets. Try to keep your furry friends indoors, with curtains drawn and some background noise to help keep them calm. 🛡️ Safety First: If you’re planning to light fireworks at home, always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and make sure to set them off in a safe, open area. Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby, just in case. 🤝 Be Mindful of Community Spaces: Make sure you’re celebrating in appropriate areas and not causing any damage to communal properties or gardens. 🔥 Stay Safe with Bonfires: If you're having a bonfire, ensure it's well away from any buildings, fences, or trees, and always supervise it until it’s fully extinguished. Let’s make it a night to remember for all the right reasons – safe, enjoyable, and community-friendly. Wishing you a happy and responsible Guy Fawkes Night! 🎇 #GuyFawkesNight #BonfireNight #StaySafe

A nice, safe, autumn campfire or bonfire? Great! 👍 (s'mores optional, but encouraged) Dryer fire? BAD. VERY BAD. 👎 (and 100% do not cook s'mores on a burning clothes dryer, please) In fact, outside of the kitchen, clothes dryers are one of the top causes of house fires—and lint and dust are the main triggers, especially in your dryer vent and duct. Avoid having a home #horrorstory to tell around the campfire with these tips to help prevent dryer fires: https://bit.ly/3ZLNutA #Halloween #Spooktober

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃👻🧟♂️🧛♂️🧙♀️🧝♀️ Your DMAA team wishes you, your communities, teams, and families a **SAFE** and Happy Halloween! We wanted to share some tips for **FUN** trick or treating in multifamily communities to keep the communities safe for all and enjoyable for the kiddies. If your community is participating in fun trick or treating events be sure to use: 1️⃣ - FOAM JACK O'LANTERNS & FLAMELESS CANDLES: While fun, burning candles in carved pumpkins can be a fire hazard. Recommending foam Jack O’Lanterns with flameless candles lets your residents enjoy the holiday without the risk of fire. If your community does not allow candles, this is a great tip to share with residents so they are not tempted to break the rules. Take the foam Jack O’Lanterns to the next level by incorporating LED lights that flicker like real candles. This creates a more authentic look while maintaining safety. You can also encourage residents to personalize their Jack O’Lanterns with paint or permanent markers, fostering a sense of community as everyone displays their unique creations. 2️⃣ - KEEP THE LIGHTS ON: You might want to keep your property lights on a little later this week for your residents coming home later at night. Lights help decrease the risk of falls, as well as deter crime. On top of keeping lights on for safety, consider organizing a communal area where residents can gather, share Halloween stories, or enjoy a movie night. This not only enhances the sense of community but also provides a safe and controlled environment for celebrating, especially for younger children or families who prefer not to go door-to-door. 3️⃣ - POST YOUR PROPERTY RULES: Especially if you have rules in the lease for Halloween, you’ll want to clearly post these on your property to remind residents of things like noise ordinances, trash rules, and general behavior. 4️⃣ - TEXT RESIDENTS SAFETY ALERTS: This Halloween, invest in your residents’ safety by texting them regular safety alerts (any news from the neighborhood, or reminders about property rules). Stay safe and have fun! #DMAA #WeAreFamily #HappyHalloween #Halloween2024 #TrickOrTreating #AllTreatsNoTricks

Halloween is all about fun and spooky decorations, but safety should always come first! Keep these fire prevention tips in mind: Use battery-operated candles for your pumpkins and decorations instead of real flames. This reduces the risk of accidental fires, especially around kids and pets. Keep decorations away from open flames and heat sources. Flammable materials like hay, cornstalks, and paper can ignite easily. Choose flame-resistant costumes. Avoid long, trailing fabrics that can catch fire. If using real candles, never leave them unattended, and make sure they're placed on a sturdy, non-flammable surface. Test your smoke alarms and have an emergency plan in place. You can download our FREE Home Safety Plan here: https://lnkd.in/gy85q7PS Stay safe this Halloween and make sure your festivities are all treats, no tricks! #HalloweenSafety #FirePrevention #FireSafetyMonth #TrickOrTreatSafely #silcofireandsecurity #CandleSafety #CostumeSafety #safetytips

We wish everyone a safe and #spooky Halloween! We wish all those who are Trick-or-Treating tonight a safe night of fun! For homeowners welcoming spooky visitors tonight, here are some handy tips: 🎃 Keep your entry way clear - costumes can compromise sight lines and can get caught on extra clutter 🎃 Keep the Lights on - Turn on exterior lighting for steps and pathways (of course turn them off if you aren't wanting visitors, or if you run out of treats) 🎃 Remove Debris - slippery leaves, sticks, outdoor furniture, children's toys etc 🎃 Keep pets inside - Not all animals enjoy Halloween as much as we do! Costumes and masks could make an otherwise friendly pet very nervous. 🎃 Skip the Candles - Find an alternative to candles for your Jack-O'-Lanterns, or if you are using candles, don't leave them unsupervised 🎃 If you're driving during prime Trick-or-Treating time stay alert, especially in residential areas, excited families can pop out of anywhere! #MutualInsurance #HalloweenSafety #staysafe #trickortreat
