Food drives are important and help bring in an excellent variety of food to anti-hunger organizations, but they are also a LOT of work. It's important to keep this mind if you're organizing one this holiday season, to make sure you're not adding too much to the plate of your local food pantry. September is Hunger Action Month. One in four adults in the US experienced food insecurity in 2023, and that number has been going up over the past few years. But did you know that food security is more than just handing out meals? It’s actually eight different outcomes, ranging from a meal, to eating more healthfully, to improving the food distribution network. It’s critical that we get specific about which of those we’re solving for, so we can be realistic about what it takes and how much it costs. Learn how to get precise with your food security outcomes in our new white paper. Impact Genome #HungerActionMonth #philanthropy #socialimpact #foodsecurity #outcomes #hungerrelief

Every year HOPE worldwide Food Pantry hosts a Thanksgiving event in Framingham, MA, offering local families ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving meal - Turkey, potato, corn, green beans, sweet potato, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy and, of course, pies! This year was no different. Clients lined up outside of the church as early as 2 hours in 40 degree temperature before opening so they could be the first to pick up before the food ran out. Within 90 minutes, we served over 200 families and ran out of all turkey and fresh produce. According to Feeding America, 47 million people (and rising) are food insecure in the United States. Many of them are parents with jobs but struggling to afford rising costs of rent, fresh produce and protein for their families. According to USDA, food-at-home prices went up almost 17% between 2021 and 2023. I would like to take a moment to THANK all the volunteers who invest their time behind the scene serving people with food insecurity across our country every day. I am also grateful for organizations like The Greater Boston Food Bank and their donors who provide free or discounted food to make these meaningful events possible. So, in case you are curious, what was the most favorite pie in this event? Pecan was the winner, beating out Blueberry Crumble, Apple and Sweet Potato Pies! What's your favorite pie? If you are curious about what pies are most popular in your neck of the woods, check out this Newsweek article on most popular pies by state. https://lnkd.in/gdGA9dyx #food #gratitude #leadership #community #nonprofit

🌱 Fighting the Stigma Around Food Insecurity: Sara's Story of Resilience 🌱 Did you know that one in six Americans is affected by food insecurity? At HelloFresh, we are committed to changing this statistic and ensuring fresh food is available and accessible to anyone in need. That's why we created LimeAid, a program designed to help individuals and families experiencing hardship or lack of food security. LimeAid allows neighbors, friends, or family members to nominate loved ones in need for a chance to win six months of free HelloFresh meals. One inspiring recipient of the LimeAid program is Sara Ariss, a Wisconsin native who unexpectedly faced food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, Sara shared her story on GMA3 to discuss the stigma around food insecurity and how her own struggles inspired her to give back to her community. Despite the challenges she faced, Sara innovated the operations of local food pantries to better serve families like hers. Join us in applauding Sara's resilience and ongoing commitment to fighting food insecurity. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need. My boss pitched the idea of creating vlogging content from the company's perspective. The reasoning is that most corporate videos are too corporatey, if that makes any sense, lol. I took the idea and ran with it, helping coordinate our team's donation to a local food pantry. It was a lot of fun. According to HubSpot in a 2024 Instagram report, 35% of the content that brands post is content that reflects your brand's values. According to Hootsuite's Social Media Trends 2025 report, nearly half of all brands post 61% to 100% content to entertain, educate, or inform without directly promoting their organization, products, or services. The data is there to take the risk and do some creative content. No one is perfect, and you can quickly tell I'm not the best at it, but give it a shot and see what happens. #SocialMedia #SocialMediaTrends #CreativeMarketing #DigitalMarketing
