📢 Tomorrow cambiaMO with Floridea Di Ciommo, María Alonso Raposo, and Eurecat - Technology Centre with Julian Vicens and Ferran Bertomeu Paga will be at the 📍#ECSA2024 conference in Vienna for CLIMAS_EU project The ECSA - European Citizen Science Association conferences celebrate the citizen science community by bringing together hundreds of individuals and organizations dedicated to increasing the democratization of knowledge production. ECSA supports the growth of citizen science in Europe and advocates for its recognition, promotion, and funding as a valid approach to research. cambiaMO is happy to participate in this years event under the theme of 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦, reflecting the current era of rapid transformation across various levels, in representation of the CLIMAS project on the session: 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧-𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, this 🗓 4th April at 13:00 CET. The session will consist of a workshop on how to effectively use citizen science in #LivingLabs and #ClimateAssemblies, so don´t miss it! 🌎 Climate assemblies and Living labs are considered as sustainable and reasonable tools to stimulate deliberative democracy in climate policymaking. The ambition of the CLIMAS_EU project is to support a transformation to climate resilience by offering an innovative problem-oriented climate adoption Toolbox, co-designed together with stakeholders by applying a values-based approach, design thinking methods and citizen science mechanisms #ECSA #citizenscience #climateaction

Let’s make it clear, I am far from being a perfect environmentalist!!! 😯 🌿 Among others: ·      I love meat and eat beef a few times a year.  ·      My travels include flying 1 to 3 times annually.  ·      I continue to ski, though I admit it wasn’t the wisest choice this season.  ·      I save time and energy by buying things online instead of taking the public transport to go to Munich city center. However, beyond the individual actions, I try to use the several powers I have to make a positive impact: ✅ As a consumer, I have drastically reduced my consumption, specially clothes and shoes. 🛍️ ✅ As a citizen, I am engaged as a volunteer to spread environmental awareness. 📢 ✅ As an influencer, on a small scale, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and trying to publish more on LinkedIn (yes, doing my best!). 💬 ✅ And last but not least, at work, I am pivoting my activities and leveraging years of experience in transformation at scale for the transition to sustainable business models. 📈 Thanks again to Le Pitch Climat | Climate Pitch for allowing me to bring awareness to these powers at scale in a very positive way! 🙏Taking up our various heroes' capes is one of the key messages brought during this interactive conference!

❗ Great news! ❗ At the Digital Ocean Forum 2024 event, which took place in Brussels, Belgium on June 13, 2024, Hereon gave presentations and interactive demos for the European Digital Twin of the Ocean (DTO). Joanna Staneva (Department Head, KSD) and Kelli Johnson (Scientific Project Manager, KSD) presented about Nature Based Solutions and the sustainable blue economy. The event was organized by the European Commission with support from Mercator Ocean International and the VLIZ - Flanders Marine Institute under the auspices of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the EU. It began on June 12 with a technical scientific workshop, and continued with the unveiling of the DTO prototype and feedback discussions and engagement on June 13. The goal of this event was co-design and co-development of the DTO among experts, stakeholders, policymakers, and interested citizens towards a more sustainable future ocean. President von der Leyen’s 2022 announcement at the One Ocean Summit laid the groundwork for this initiative, underlining the EU’s commitment to the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters. Imagining a nature-based future for Europe in 2120! Wageningen University & Research organizes the Mansholt lectures to inspire European policymakers and stakeholders. In 2023, we emphasized the power of imagination, presenting a hopeful vision for a climate-resilient, nature-based Europe by 2120. Building on the 2022 lecture about the food system's role in fostering nature-positive futures, this year's lecture focuses on nature-based solutions as a key part of a collaborative approach to climate resilience and biodiversity, shifting from confronting challenges to embracing opportunities.
