How many problems do you see? For context, this is the service head of an electrical installation in a residential premises- accessible to ordinary persons just as photographed.

Last weekend was Junction weekend! We formed a team with Ilmari Vahteristo, Niclas Joswig, Qianfei Gu, and Lorenso D'Agostino. To be honest, we had such a fun time, and we made an app (of course). 📱 With our system, users can automate the creation and updating of building equipment inventories, for example fire extinguishers, electrical cabinets, and relays. By simply taking a picture of the equipment, our system automatically recognizes key information, including maintenance dates and serial numbers, and adds it to the registry as well as the 3D map, if available. I attached a short introduction video and a little functionality demo here 😊

Years ago I volunteered to be part of the field installation team from my previous job for me to learn the how-to's of the practical aspect. Doing things from your desk to carrying and laying pipes, pulling cables, and erecting ladders under the scorching heat of the sun is no easy task. It was fun and rewarding since you are working with a diverse group of people learning from them and seeing your flaws that experience has thought them over the years. One thing that's challenging is water-proofing connectors, we often tend to give that task to the installation boxes and seal it with silicon sealants it works but in some cases especially the rainy season we receive some reports that some cameras stop transmitting video, the culprit? water infiltrating to the box rusting metal components in the connectors. So it is important to follow manufacturer recommended installation instructions, here's one example you should follow... :)

Happy Friday’s Eve! What are your thoughts on this delayed egress exit device installation? I can’t tell if it is a fire labelled door, but I am pretty sure it is due to its location in this building. If it’s not a fire door, is running the wiring conduit across the door surface appropriate? If it’s a fire door, is this installation code compliant? What's up with the sign being taped over? Sooo many questions.
