Business Insights: Augmented Reality (AR) stands out as a major force in transforming ship repair, offering unparalleled benefits such as remote assistance, expert training, and real-time equipment monitoring. Numerous vessels contend with minor operational glitches during extended periods of continuous use. Addressing these challenges through digital consultations with expert engineers, time and financial resources can be conserved by ship companies. AR facilitates a seamless monitoring process for machinery, allowing rapid identification of current conditions and potential issues, elevating the efficiency of ship maintenance practices. We at ShipSmith aim to incorporate such technology into our operations to enhance efficiency and deliver superior services to our clients. #shipsmith #shiprepair #marine #marineindustry #futuretrends #technology #advancement #engineering #vessel #vesselmanagement #ar #augmentedreality #work #engine #technologytrends #innovation #scope #businessenvironment #invention

Imagine a world where inspecting critical infrastructure doesn’t compromise safety. New Zealand's critical facilities like culverts, pipes and tunnels require frequent inspections and occasional surveys for their safe and continued use. As these frequently inaccessible assets can degrade over time and become hazardous, they can present considerable health and safety dangers to engineers and surveyors. That's where technology like PIPE-i comes in. Previously published on Newsroom NZ, Marcus Hall details the innovation of the six-wheeled robotic survey vehicle providing consistent and repeatable results. Ever wondered how we move those massive cables at Fast Track Global? Here's a behind-the-scenes look at our expert process. 1️⃣ Preparation: Our skilled team begins by assessing the site and planning the safest, most efficient route for the cable move. 2️⃣ Machine Setup: We bring in the big guns – the rigging crane truck. This powerful machine is essential for lifting and manoeuvring heavy cables. 3️⃣ Rigging: With precision and expertise, we rig the cable securely to ensure stability and safety during the move. 4️⃣ Lifting: The crane truck takes over, lifting the cable smoothly off the ground. Our team monitors every step to ensure flawless execution. 5️⃣ Transport: Once lifted, the cable is carefully transported to its new location, with our crew guiding the process to avoid obstacles and ensure a smooth journey. 6️⃣ Placement: Finally, we position the cable exactly where it needs to be, completing the move with meticulous attention to detail. From start to finish, our team ensures the entire process is safe, efficient, and seamless. #FastTrackGlobal #EngineeringExcellence #CableMoving #CraneTruck #ConstructionInnovation #BehindTheScenes #ProjectManagement #RiggingSkills #Teamwork

I highly recommended this webinar for anyone interested or involved in railway level crossing safety. https://lnkd.in/g5KjqG4x https://lnkd.in/gsF-AzTT Thanks to the presenters, TrackSAFE Foundation and others involved for this webinar. Julia Pitsopoulos, Natalie L. , Paul Bennett & John Wall I particularly recommend the first presentation’s discussion of human factors. I don’t think that “human error” was used at all, which is a good thing. “Human error” is a symptom of system failure and we should stop using the term. Everyone involved in level crossing safety need to do everything they can to make the system work as safely as possible. #roadsafety #railsafety
