Learning and upskilling are crucial in today’s job market, with 54% of hiring managers prioritizing candidates committed to continuous growth. Immediate availability is also valued, with 48% preferring candidates who can start immediately and 40% favoring those willing to work full-time in the office. However, frequent job changes (37%) and a lack of career direction (34%) can be significant turnoffs. It’s essential to explain career gaps or varied job experiences clearly, framing them as assets rather than liabilities. #CareerGrowth #JobMarket #ContinuousLearning #HiringTrends #ProfessionalDevelopment

✨ Today marks two months since my layoff, and this experience has been filled with valuable insights. One key takeaway: the hiring process is broken. Here’s what I’ve learned so far: 1️⃣ Transparency is Key: Candidates are often left in the dark with delayed responses, making it hard to plan next steps. Honest, timely feedback goes a long way and benefits both the candidate experience and employer brand. 2️⃣ Efficiency Over Exhaustion: Multiple rounds of interviews, often covering the same topics, drain candidates and hiring teams alike. Streamlined, purposeful interviews could create a more engaging experience and reduce “candidate fatigue.” 3️⃣ Beyond Automation: Overreliance on ATS can lead to qualified candidates being overlooked. The human touch is essential to spotting unique skills, adaptability, and cultural fit. 4️⃣ Realistic Expectations Matter: Some job descriptions come with lists of “must-haves” that no single candidate could meet. When companies balance their needs with achievable qualifications, they attract stronger talent. 5️⃣ Constructive Feedback: Often, candidates invest time and effort but receive little to no insight if they’re not selected. Simple feedback can support candidates’ growth and foster goodwill. 6️⃣ Consideration for Well-being: Prolonged hiring timelines, lack of updates, and ghosting can weigh on candidates’ well-being and morale. Treating candidates with respect and care shows that a company values people beyond their resumes. These two months have also reinforced my belief in tenacity, networking, and personal growth. Despite the challenges, I’m inspired to bring my expertise in building strong, strategic partnerships to an organization that values people and growth. If I can support anyone else navigating this journey, please feel free to reach out. We’re all in this together! #JobSearch #HiringProcess #StrangeTimes #HR #Networking #Tenacity

We spend a substantial amount of time at work, so it’s imperative that you are intentional when it comes to selecting and shortlisting which employers you wish to engage with in the hiring process. ❌ Don’t waste your life (and your career) in an environment that does not satisfy you as a Human being, or mentally stimulate you as a professional. Just some food for thought.. #lifeisshort #beintentional #careerchange
