How to create a job description that attracts talent (and not just unicorns 🦄) Our team recently asked ourselves THE question: “Are we doing our job postings right?”  A few pointers for you, because recruiting that famous “five-legged sheep” isn't easy. 🐑✨ Job title: Call a spade a spade Looking for an Accounting Technician? Say Accounting Technician. Company introduction: NEXT! Candidates want to know everything at a glance. A quick intro could help them decide whether to read on or move on to the next job. Tasks: paint a true picture! Be transparent. List daily tasks without filters. You know, no “surprises” once they're on the job. Requirements: Keep it simple Avoid grocery lists. It's obvious that everyone wants a “team player”! Conclude forcefully: What's in it for them? If you have benefits worthy of the name, mention them - it's important! Now, good luck finding your five-legged sheep! 🐏

"Hire attitude, not skill. Skill can be taught." Sure, that works for some (mostly entry) positions But good luck hiring a Chief Accountant with a great attitude but lacking the right skills or knowledge. So, let's be real: hire for attitude, but keep realistic expectations about the necessary skills and knowledge.
