Something interesting I just learned at Private Equity Insights in Madrid: It was a great conference, with over 600 attendees from around the world. My favorite breakout session was titled "What are the future challenges and opportunities of Iberia?". The session emphasized the challenge of finding investments that use AI to boost operational efficiency, not just revenue. Bottom line? Investors are now aiming for a 25-30% efficiency gain through AI tools, focusing on agile adoption. Again for the people in the back: SMEs seeking to raise capital in private equity markets need to demonstrate a robust case for internal productivity gains of 25 to 30%. Gen AI could help Europe achieve an annual productivity growth rate of up to 3 percent through 2030. It was truly an honor to speak at the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) in Hong Kong on the topic of Data as an Asset and its transformative role in valuing AI, people, and data itself. During the session, I introduced the concept of valuing these critical elements and showcased real-life examples of how it can be practically applied. For the first time ever, we have the ability to value data, people, and AI in ways that empower businesses and organisations to de-risk investments in AI and technology, provide more accurate and impactful value assessments, shift ROI predictions from short-term focus to long-term sustainable perspectives, and unlock so much more potential. We also explored the new learning pathways and educational models that ensure people and organisations can leverage data and use AI as a collaborative partner—both for consumers and within the valuation industry. This evolving approach represents a significant step toward creating new forms of value that will open up new pathways for innovation and growth.
