AIs ability to generate makes them prone to errors and straight-up fabrications ("hallucinating"). But, they’re still awesome and you need to learn how to leverage them. 2023 was the pivotal year and its ability to mimic human creativity. I love Steve Rowland's take here. Nice to listen to two experts discussing what hyperpersonalization is. Some key words/phrases/ideas from workshop/discussion with Jon Reed and Thomas Wieberneit: Value focus- individual vs vendor. Many are looking at the wrong side of things. People aren't saying "I want more hyper... in my life!" Is it different from one-to-one marketing? or just a dressed up version with things like AI? Similarity to recommendation engines- e.g., youtube which gives range of choices based on history and interests. Going farther to guess specifics could be going too far. B2B vs B2C- better to say complex purchases vs non-complex purchases. Complex purchases don't need to be influenced in the moment (real time) and need to consider deadlines and idea of staying in touch over longer periods. B2C needs to find buyer in real time but fraught with lack of knowledge of recent life experiences that influence purchases. The cost- stakes of getting it wrong in B2B much higher. Tendency to send info that is not relevant and marketing in heavy handed ways.
