3D Models are an increasing requirement for surveys with more and more designers using 3D software rather than the traditional 2D. Our CPD gives key guidance on transitioning to this workflow and specifying the survey correctly to meet your project needs.
We recently completed a detailed LOD 300 survey of a stunning residential property in London. Our team captured precise measurements to produce an accurate 3D model of the house, which can be used for design and construction purposes. Interested in how our surveys can help your next project? Below-grade waterproofing systems can be critical features of building enclosure design, particularly when the structure has a deep foundation. As the foundation goes deeper, there is a greater likelihood that it will encounter the groundwater table and hydrostatic conditions, which makes choosing the right below-grade waterproofing system even more important. This free CEU will overview the primary factors to consider when selecting and designing below-grade waterproofing systems for a building’s foundation. 🔹 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gM736Eu2 (AIA Credits: 1.0 LU/HSW) #DesignSpecifications #BuildingDesign #ConstructionProject #FreeCEU #Waterproof #FoundationSystem #StructuralLoad #BuildingFoundation

Beyond the Threshold of Doors: Portals to New Beginnings & Echoes of the Past Old doors from around the world are like windows into the past, each one reflecting a unique blend of factors that contribute to their intricate designs, symbolic meanings, and details. In this brief article, I’ll delve into how doors can be more than just functional passageways, where they are powerful symbols that are woven into the fabric of our lives. I’ve used 3 different style doors as case studies to illustrate my point across starting from the Hijaz style door designs, stopping at the Najdi region, and then finally resting at the AlHasaa region’s door designs & what all of this should mean to us: https://lnkd.in/dVFS2X_D DarTec Engineering HealTec Rehab

HERS Rater Spring Class 2024 A big shout out to the great folks at The Studio for High Performance, Design and Construction. What a great space to teach building science. This space was built to Passive House standards and in some cases, with repurposed materials. I love it! Our students will be taking measurements, doing performance testing, and modeling this building as part of their training tomorrow. It's great they get to experience a design that's a little (dare I say a lot) different than what they may be used to seeing. Thank you Nicholas Falkoff, and all the folks who helped design such an amazing space for people to come and learn & grow together. Fun Fact: The logo was designed based on the design of the solar panels placed in an optimal direction for sun exposure while simultaneously providing shading for the front windows to reduce overheating in the summer while taking advantage of the radiant heat from the sun in the colder months. This is proof positive that when we step back, think things through, and pull on our resources - we can design amazing spaces! #sustainability #NEHERS #PSD #BuildingScience #PassiveDesign

🏗️ Why Podium Waterproofing is a Game-Changer in Modern Construction 🌊 As a construction professional, I can't stress enough the critical role of podium waterproofing. Here's why it's essential: 1. Structural Integrity: Protects against water damage, preserving concrete and reinforcements. 2. Longevity: Significantly extends the lifespan of buildings, reducing long-term maintenance costs. 3. Design Flexibility: Enables creative use of podium spaces, from green areas to recreational facilities. 4. Interior Protection: Safeguards underground spaces like parking and retail areas from leaks. 5. Health Benefits: Prevents mold growth and improves indoor air quality. 6. Cost-Effective: While initially an investment, it saves money on future repairs and potential legal issues. Investing in quality podium waterproofing is not just a building necessity – it's a smart business decision that pays off in the long run. What's your experience with podium waterproofing?
