Experiencing late payments? It's probably not your customers’ fault. The common culprit of late B2B payments? "Bad payers! Bad payers!" I hear everyone say. But before you point the finger, consider this: how easy is it for your customers to actually pay your business? Are you still sending PDFs buried in email chains? Are you collecting payments by checks? No wonder invoices get lost in the shuffle! My experience building Upflow has shown me time and again that late payments are more often than not a technology problem, not a people problem. If you deliver a great product or service, your customers want to pay you. But it’s likely that your process for collecting payments is not ideal. Here's the Fix: Re-engineer your payment process so it’s actually easy for you customers to pay you. Think about this early, when then sign up for your services. Offer payment by credit card and direct debit. Do away with PDF invoices buried in emails and get the right technology in place. You won't change all of them in one go, but any step in the right direction is better than nothing. How have you streamlined your cash collection?
