The recent #Oasis ticket frenzy has highlighted a crucial gap in #EventSafety regulations. While the UK government is scrutinising ticket sales practices, we must ask: why isn't there equal attention on safety throughout the entire event cycle? Event safety isn't just about what happens inside the venue. It's a comprehensive process that includes: 1: Fair and secure ticket purchasing 2: Safe arrival at the venue 3: Well-managed event experience 4: Secure return home Currently, there's a disconnect between regulating ticket sales and ensuring on-site safety. As industry professionals, we need to advocate for: - Government regulations that address the full event lifecycle - Event organisers prioritising safety at every stage - Integration of medical providers in event planning from day one There are some great private ambulance companies / medical providers currently who are already emphasising the need for experienced staff and tailored medical plans. But we need broader support to make this the industry standard. Let's work together to create events that are not only exciting but safe from start to finish.
