I just sadly watched someone get completed hosed by an employment non-compete. This person’s life is likely turned upside down for little justifiable reason. Employees. Beware if you’re signing years of your life away with a non compete employment agreement. Not only are these borderline unethical in most cases and not enforceable in many states, they can destroy you if you try to move jobs and there’s overlap. At PushPress we don’t ask for non competes for the same reason we don’t ask our clients to sign years of their lives into a contract: we want you to be happy here or be happier elsewhere. It’s really about you / the client. If you’re locked into a non compete I would rethink why your employer had you sign it to begin with. This image of a door was simply one I liked while in Portugal. But also represents opportunity (or lack thereof if you’re locked on the wrong side of it)
