This week we recognize Karen "KK" Hook on the NASA JSC contract. From the client: "“KK provided outstanding support to the new visitor badge system that was instituted after JSC security stopped processing the CAA (yellow) badges. She devised her own system to gather the inputs for CAA badges and make them available to employees even on days when support was not available. Then she created an informational package to share with other employees to help communicate how the new system works and how employees can get the proper access to the CAA areas. KK took on this heavy increased workload and still continued to execute her daily tasks. Thank you, KK!”

Faculty in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, The University of Texas at Austin are leaders in their field. They are also inspiring human beings. I am privileged to work with Prof. Maruthi Akella #TheSkyIsNotTheLimit 🚀
Look at the stars, look how they shine for you 🌌 Maruthi Akella, professor at Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, The University of Texas at Austin and a globally recognized expert in aerospace engineering, recently had an asteroid named after him. Discovered in 1990, the asteroid "Maruthiakella" is 5.5 miles wide and resides in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. His colleague Ryan Park from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration initiated the naming, a rare honor governed by The International Astronomical Union. The asteroid's slightly eccentric orbit humorously mirrors his personality, Maruthi tells us. Please help us in congratulating Maruthi in this rare recognition 🤘 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gT9x4pJh

Quality Vs Quantity This post has only 3 likes. But one of them is Dan Goldin. Dan was the 9th NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Chief So don't beat yourself over vanity metrics of likes and engagement. Yes, it's good to have, but what's more important is to have good-quality engagement. #socialmedia #vanitymetrics #quality

William Dana was an American aeronautical engineer, United States Air Force pilot, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration test pilot, and astronaut. He said, “Always take the job seriously, but never take yourself seriously." Taking the job seriously means committing to excellence, being disciplined, and ensuring your work meets high standards. This commitment resukts in respecting the task at hand, understanding that your efforts contribute to a larger purpose, and taking pride in what you do. It applies in everything that you do personally and professionally. Not taking yourself too seriously allows for humility and flexibility. It helps you stay grounded, recognize your own limitations, and laugh at your mistakes. This balance prevents burnout, fosters creativity, and encourages a healthy perspective on failures and successes. It also enhances collaboration, as others are more likely to connect with someone who is approachable, emotionally intelligent, and self aware. Taking the job seriously keeps you focused on the mission, while not taking yourself too seriously reminds you that you are human, evolving, and should remain adaptable. #growth #leadership #mentalhealth #balance #quality
