A brief snapshot of Element’s journey!
At Element we often discuss our years of experience, but the company as we know it is little more than a decade old. How far back do our origins really go? ⏳ Element’s history dates back to 1827, with roots based in industrial testing and measurement in the Victorian era. 🕰 Since then, our businesses have been involved in the materials and product testing that gave the world the Model T ford, put Concorde into the skies, and has helped keep Venice afloat. 🛶 Today, after completing multiple high quality acquisitions, we proudly operate over 270 global locations with more than 9,000 colleagues. 🤝 This is almost 200 years of #MakingTomorrowSaferThanToday. 🌍 #InOurElement

Have you ever felt invisible? The feeling that no matter where you go, your true self doesn't seem to find a place? Representation changes that dynamic in profound ways. Here's why: In aerospace, it's not just about flying high. It's about breaking barriers. Diverse representation brings new ideas. It sparks innovation with clever solutions that make the industry's future exciting. → Inspiring the Future When a young person sees someone like them in aviation, dreams take flight. Role models in the cockpit show that there are no limits. They break barriers and ignite ambition. They lead the next generation to soar. → Smart Decisions with Diverse Teams The power of diverse teams lies in their smart decisions. By considering many experiences, they make plans that help all. They address aerospace challenges with skill. → A Reflection of the Globe A workforce that mirrors the world ensures that products help everyone. It builds stronger bonds between communities and industries. This increases success through cultural awareness. → Historic Change Representation is not just a fix for past wrongs. It is key to a strong, fair industry. When all talents are welcomed, growth and innovation are not just possible. They're inevitable. The Royal Aeronautical Society is leading the charge. They create an environment where diversity and inclusion fuel progress. They set an industry standard for a brighter future. Feeling represented isn't just a perk. It's essential for sparking innovation and inspiration. Let's make sure everyone has a seat in the cockpit of progress. If you believe in an inclusive future, let's keep this conversation alive.

As the sun sets on my first season on the Red Arrows, this isn't just an opportunity to share some of my favourite sun set pictures - but also to reflect on a question I've been asked countless times; what's the best thing about your job? The answer is simple; people. The reason why is also simple. Unlike many military organisations, every person on the Red Arrows has applied to be there. This means they are all invested in, and passionate about, the output. This makes being a leader a pleasure and a privilege. ♦️ 100% availability of a 9-ship to every single UK, European and Canadian air show, and official flypast, of the 60th Diamond Season. 🍁 Transiting twelve aircraft across the Atlantic, through 4 countries, across 12 locations, spanning 6-weeks, and arriving back on time - as part of the MAPLE HAWK tour. Individually these are incredible achievements. Together they are immense. On top of this, all of the above, the intense training for 6 months in advance, and much more, was achieved in the same year as the 50th anniversary of the Hawk T1 aircraft that we use. The oldest aircraft still serving the team entered service in 1977 and they no longer make spare parts. More than ever, what this year has demonstrated to me is how a cohesive team can be greater than the sum of its parts - and how important motivation, a clear mission and a shared vision is to delivering phenomenal results. So why this post? 1. A cheap excuse to share some of my favourite photos. 🌅 2. In a world where the increasing benefit of AI is pushed upon us, I find it important to remember what endures throughout. It is not the achievements of technology that define us, but the achievements of people. 👥👥👥

What initially drew me to join Lockheed Martin after college was my deep-seated passion for flight. As a pilot myself, I was captivated by the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of aircraft design and manufacturing. The aerospace industry has always been my calling, and being part of Lockheed Martin allows me to merge my personal and professional passions seamlessly. The pride I feel seeing an F-35 on the production line or a C-5 take off is unparalleled, knowing that my team plays a pivotal role in bringing these feats of engineering to life. Over the years, the array of exciting programs I've been involved in has exceeded my wildest expectations, and I eagerly anticipate the innovations of tomorrow. One aspect of my professional growth and development within the company that has been particularly impactful is the support I've received through mentoring relationships. Whether through formal mentorship programs or informal connections, my mentors have provided invaluable perspective, feedback and guidance, propelling me forward in my career journey. Inspired by their mentorship, I am committed to paying it forward by mentoring others, both individually and in small groups. The exchange of skills and perspectives between myself and my mentees has been enriching and transformative, reinforcing the importance of mentorship in fostering personal and professional growth. Maintaining a work-life balance while pursuing my career goals at Lockheed Martin is essential to my overall well-being and success. As a lifelong athlete, I prioritize staying active and recognize the profound mental and physical benefits it offers. Balancing family, health and work is a continuous process that requires deliberate choices and adjustments. I make it a point to allocate time for team meetings, mentoring sessions and, of course, my workouts, ensuring that I am investing my time in what truly matters to me. As I reflect on my journey, I encourage you to ask yourself: are you spending your time on what matters most to you? Join me in celebrating the journey of women in aeronautics and the boundless opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we can soar to new heights and inspire the next generation of aerospace trailblazers! #WomenInAeronautics #LockheedMartin #Mentorship #WorkLifeBalance #ProfessionalGrowth #AerospaceIndustry
