As we celebrate Seniors' Week, let's recognize the importance the importance of aging in place. 🏠 Aging in place empowers seniors to live life on their own terms. To achieve aging in place, it's crucial to evaluate homes and communities to meet evolving needs and establish support. Mobility is key to independence as we age, enabling seniors to reach medical appointments, grocery stores, and social events. Dependable and safe transportation is vital for seniors to maintain their independence and thrive at home. At Drive Happiness, our goal is to provide safe and affordable transportation, ensuring seniors have the necessary resources to live and age comfortably in their own homes. Our volunteers make this possible. #AgeInPlace #CommunitySupport #AccessibleTransportation #NonProfitOrganization #Volunteering #Volunteer

Help our participants create the life they have imagined by supporting Peace of Mind and our goal of raising $5,000 on WyoGives Day July 10, 2024! Your support will help cover the costs of our DSPs joining our participants on their adventures. 🌎 Thank you! 💜 Save our WyoGives Profile Link for July 10th: https://lnkd.in/gftGUq3V #WyoGives2024 #WyoGives #AlbanyCounty #Nonprofit #PeaceofMind #LiveHereGiveHere #community #inclusivity #diversity #challengebarriers #disabilityadvocate #disabilitysupport #qualityservices #companion #respite #homemaker #makeadifference #bethedifference #inthistogether Video Transcription: Peace of Mind: Your Journey, Your Way got its start in 2021. We achieved non-profit status in January of 2023 and haven’t stopped expanding! Our dedicated and passionate team currently supports over 30 participants with disabilities and acquired brain injuries in their homes and communities. What sets us apart from other DD waiver providers is our commitment to inclusivity and challenging barriers. Most providers require participants to pay for all employee costs for outings to see their favorite artists, sports teams, and vacation spots. This makes these kinds of memories financially impossible for many participants. We work diligently to keep organizational costs to a minimum in order to cover employee costs. There is no greater feeling than seeing the joy in someone’s face as they participate in creating the life they have imagined!

One after another, we kept hearing the same question: “What can I do to help?” First, we want to say – Thank you! What an overwhelmingly powerful and immediate response to our mission. So, what can you do to help? We’ve asked our COK advisors for their top answers to this question. 1) Spread the Word. Do research on your own state foster care statistics and use our template letter to write directly to your state governor in support of Connect Our Kids. Start a letter-writing campaign in your state. Ask 5 friends in your state to write a letter, and 5 of their friends, and so on. Many social workers and welfare professionals just don’t know about us. We need to nudge our state officials to start utilizing our family search and engagement platform. 2) Follow Us and Share. Believe it or not, social media is a powerful tool for a non-profit. You could spread the word with someone who works in the child welfare space or with someone who can become a donor. 3) Donate. We are a team of dedicated developers, researchers, and connectors collaborating with state and private agencies nationwide to create technology solutions that enable support connections and loving families for children in foster care. We need your support. Donate to help us keep going! https://lnkd.in/giYhTX_A #RootsTech2023 #ConnectOurKids #TechnologyForGood #FosterCare #ChildWelfare #SocialWorkers #FosterCareStories

While a lot of people are groaning about #taxday, today is also International Microvolunteering Day! 🗓️ And that is something to celebrate! Did you know that volunteering is great for your mental health? Studies show that giving back to causes you believe in and/or helping people in your community can reduce stress, combat depression, increase self-confidence, and provide a sense of purpose. 🧠 You might not have time to volunteer for big projects, but we're sure lots of people could get involved in micro-volunteering - bite-sized volunteer tasks that only take 1-30 minutes. It's a great way to give back to your community while also taking care of your own wellbeing. Whether it's picking up litter around your neighborhood, or buying a few extra things to donate to a local food bank the next time you're headed to the grocery store, every small act of service can make a difference! 💚 Join us in celebrating International Microvolunteering Day by finding a quick and easy way to volunteer. You never know who you might impact. Little acts can have huge ripple effects! #PathwaysCounselingServices #MicroVolunteeringDay #MentalHealthMatters #Volunteer #Giveback #helpothers

In 2012, my life came apart at the seams. The years between 2012-2017 were filled with grief, loss, and what felt like endless pain. I realized one day that drinking a bottle of wine every night wasn’t a sustainable way to cope—I needed something more. Something meaningful. Scrolling through Facebook one day, I saw a post from a friend about a local community service organization looking for volunteers. Intrigued, I reached out, and before I knew it, I was a part of the Sherman Service League. For the next seven years, I poured myself into volunteering. I served with the Child Welfare Board, the Child and Family Guidance Center, the Juvenile Drug Court, and Grand Central Station’s soup kitchen. My eyes were opened to the growing needs in our community—addiction, homelessness, the mental health crisis. The needs were increasing faster than the charities could keep up, and I began to see a heartbreaking pattern: the traditional ways of solving these problems weren’t working. That’s when the seed for HeartProfit was planted. I realized we needed a better way to address these social issues, and I knew that workplaces had to be part of the solution. Fast forward to today, and HeartProfit has grown into a global movement with a bold mission: to solve social issues by transforming workplaces into spaces that cultivate care, compassion, and connection while maintaining high performance. We spend so much of our lives at work—if every workplace became nurturing to mental well-being, we could put an end to the mental health crisis. Volunteerism didn’t just save my life—it gave me purpose. It gave me hope. And it ignited a mission that’s now reaching people and organizations worldwide. If you’re looking for more meaning, connection, and purpose in your life, join us. Volunteer with HeartProfit and be part of a movement that’s changing the world—one workplace at a time. 🌍💖 📅 Sign up for an informational meeting every Tuesday at noon. 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/gxWywMJa Come join the team with Brian Delano Stephanie Groschup, CRPC® Joyce Nichols Lisa Gaouette Michael Grishman #HeartProfit #Volunteerism #SocialImpact #MentalHealthAwareness #PurposefulLiving #WorkplaceWellness
