One of my favorite parts of working in hospitality is the unexpected, beautiful moments that make it all worthwhile. Just yesterday, we had a couple celebrating their anniversary, and I had the chance to surprise them with a little extra gesture. Something simple—a hand-written note and a small dessert on the house. The look on their faces, the genuine surprise and joy, was priceless. It reminded me why I love what I do. Hospitality isn’t just about service; it’s about those little touches that make people feel seen and valued. It’s amazing how a small act of kindness can make such a lasting memory for someone. Moments like these show me that what we do really matters, and they remind me to put my heart into every interaction. #HospitalityWithHeart #MomentsThatMatter #CustomerExperience #SmallActsBigImpact #linkedin #Hospitality

Looking back on the Thanksgiving holiday and thinking about the many things I am grateful for, I came across a quote that was too timely to not to be shared: "Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another." - John C. Maxwell. During my career, I've had the incredible privilege of working with diverse teams and witnessing the profound impact each member can have. It's not just the leaders or those in high-profile positions who make a difference; every single individual, regardless of their title, has the power to influence and shape the organization. Whether it's the admission staff at Wild Wadi Waterpark who ensured every guest had an unforgettable experience, the lifeguards at Aquaventure Waterpark, Great Wolf Lodge, City of Kissimmee, and Charlotte Mecklenburg County who prioritized safety above all, or the teams at the City of Box Elder who prioritized service and the needs of the citizens...each person's contribution is a vital thread in the tapestry of our collective success. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all those who have impacted our teams (and me) in both small and large ways. It's the smile from a guest service representative, the innovative solution from a team member, the "warm welcome" and "fond farewell" of frontline staff, or the extra effort put in by someone to ensure a project's success. These actions, though sometimes unseen, are the difference makers! Thanksgiving does not have to be gratitude for just ONE day. Instead, we can carry this spirit of gratitude and appreciation into the coming year. Let's recognize and celebrate the influence each of us has on one another. Because in the end, it's not about titles or positions; it's about how we choose to impact the lives around us. Here's to continuing to make a positive impact...one life at a time.

As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, we at CULTURE ADVISORY GROUP INC. want to take a moment to reflect on the rich history and enduring significance of this cherished American tradition. Dating back to 1621, the first Thanksgiving celebration brought together the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony and the Wampanoag people in a three-day harvest festival. This gathering represented more than just a meal – it was a moment of cultural exchange, gratitude, and community building during a time of immense challenge and change. Today, Thanksgiving continues to embody these fundamental human values: gratitude, connection, and the power of coming together across differences. In our work at CULTURE ADVISORY GROUP INC., we see daily how these same principles – understanding, appreciation, and inclusive community – drive successful organizational cultures. We're thankful for our clients, partners, and the broader business community who trust us to help build more inclusive, empathetic, and high-performing workplace cultures. Your commitment to positive change inspires us every day. From our CULTURE ADVISORY GROUP INC. family to yours, we wish you a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving. May this day remind us all that our greatest strength lies in our ability to bring diverse perspectives together and find common ground in our shared humanity. #Thanksgiving #CorporateCulture #Gratitude #InclusiveLeadership #WorkplaceCulture #DiversityAndInclusion

This is 100 percent true. Recent job losses that were compromising my mental health have taught me that getting let go while inconvenient and never feels good happened FOR me, not to me. I would have kept going, enduring the toxic environment until I found a replacement job, but the universe had other plans. I am so grateful this happened FOR me. I am launching Office Koolade Podcast in November on YouTube. It is long form where we will dive deep into common problems we face in the workplace and focus on solutions that create healthier, sustainable, and a more dignified experience. I will post two podcasts per month. Do you have a compelling work experience you would like to share over Zoom with me? I am booking podcast guests now. Are you promoting a book that is on work related topic? I would love to have you as a guest and promote your book. Are you long term job seeker (more than 3 months unemployed or under employed), and would like to do a 10 minute to 20 minute short conversation that includes an elevator pitch highlighting your experience and describing your ideal position? I feature one career seeker each week as a feature of the Office Koolade Podcast YouTube Channel.
There are no awards being given out for: - most burnt out - least time spent with family - most tears held in - taking on too many commitments - making ourselves small for others - pretending we’re okay when we’re not We’re all just trying our best. To work hard, show up, do a good job, and have enough time to spend with the people we love. In the end, its not success, job titles or achievements that warms us in our final moments. It's not the hours we worked that will bring us comfort. Loving and being loved, knowing that we made this planet a more welcoming place for those we loved, is what it all boils down to.
