In my ongoing exploration of the importance of thoughtful questions that funders can ask their current and potential nonprofit grantee partners, I wanted to assert that the frameworks I've been developing are also completely applicable to individual and family donors who are looking to be more intentional with their giving and relationship building with nonprofits. You don't have to have a formal application to ask powerful questions. Here is one of the frameworks which starts by asking, "Is this important to you?" #philanthropy #giving #questions #relationships #grantmaking #changeupyourquestions https://lnkd.in/gA7uth7i

Our collective future is worth investing in. Why? It’s a simple idea rooted in the core truth that we are all connected. We can’t truly thrive as a region until every individual has the opportunity to reach their potential. There are many reasons why donors, nonprofits, communities, and corporations choose to partner with The Chicago Community Trust. But we all share one essential why — Because when our neighbors do better, we all do better. #Chicago #Philanthropy Dive into our 2023 #AnnualReport and check out our recent posts covering the latest highlights: https://lnkd.in/ge65Kb_F

First day of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ ICON conference is in the books. It’s always inspiring to go to these events and see the great work others are doing on important causes. It reminds me that even though working in nonprofits is tough, it is worth it. Highlights of the day include: how to engage volunteers more; why nonprofits need to care about public policy and using philanthropy for actual good.
