A customer portal 'seems straightforward' – but I’m obsessed with getting it right, and here’s why. I’ve seen many customer portals over the years, and too often I feel they’re overlooked. But when done properly, the portal can become your greatest asset, and here’s how: ✅ One Team, One Goal The portal integrates IT and the client seamlessly. Site champions, automated approvals, and clear processes turn us into one team working toward the same goal – not two separate entities. ✅ Automation Where It Matters You can begin automating common tasks like starters and leavers. If the requests are predictable, let’s take the burden off the helpdesk and, in turn, reward the client with time saved and a smoother experience. ✅ Tighter Processes How often do you onboard a new user, only to deal with five more tickets for forgotten permissions or missing equipment?
