Damn! One day in and my bracket is busted. March Madness is one of my favourite times of the year. There's just something about the format that makes them so exciting to watch. People love to root for the underdogs and upsets are celebrated. (BYE Kentucky…sorry, not sorry!) And this year, I think the women are going to outshine the men. Mostly because of Caitlin Clark and her pending GOAT status.    The other thing I love to see, the commercials that come out. Honestly, I think they are even better than some of the SuperBowl commercials. As an added bonus, this year because of their NIL deals, we are getting a fresh new set of commercials featuring college stars like Caitlin alongside legendary actors, and Hall Of Fame athletes. Sometimes #careeradvice can be helpful from a trusted source. But not when it's from the classic TV show "Candid Camera" and especially if you're on the receiving end of one of their pranks. Here's some questionable career guidance that the recently departed and hugely #innovative comedian Richard Lewis received when he was a student at New Jersey's Dwight Morrow High School in 1964. Bottom line: before considering the suggestions and recommendations that someone is offering, be sure to doublecheck the validity/credibility/expertise of the person who's offering it! https://lnkd.in/ebktWD5j

I used to be that person—the one who never asks for help. The one who thrives on solving other people’s problems but refuses to admit she can’t handle her own. (Sound like anyone you know...?) But after losing my husband, that version of me disappeared. Suddenly, I had no choice. My kids needed more than just me. And if their futures depended on it, I was going to figure out how to accept the help we desperately needed. It wasn’t easy. It took opening up, trusting others, and letting go of the belief that I had to do it all. - Thank you, Mr. L, Connor’s homeroom teacher, who took time every morning to truly see him. - Thank you, Mr. Jefferson, Kendall’s principal, for always being available and tuned in. - And thank you to my mother, who drove to countless activities and worked through math homework I barely understood. I wouldn’t be where I am today without that web of support—or my willingness to let it catch me. Now, I see asking for help not as a weakness, but as a strength. It’s the foundation of resilience — being able to bend instead of break when life gets hard. I had the privilege of sharing more about this transformation in "fireside chat" with Dr. Carlos Saba and Laurence McCahill just this morning! 😱 Woah, it's finally come around..You Me Bum Bum Train 2024 is live 🎇 This is the 3rd round of You Me Bum Bum Train I've contributed to, each time getting more and more involved in the behind-the-scenes in small ways to make this community-driven, fever dream, immersive rollercoaster train journey happen. The last show was 8 years ago, and it only runs for ~6 weeks, so it's truly a scarce and precious experience. The last 6 months have been unbelievable amounts of fun. Is it weird? ✅ Is it hard to describe? ✅ Is it chaotic? ✅ Is it a bottomless pit of joy and love? ✅ Tickets went for it almost immediately, but the shows run ~3 times a week between now and the end of Jan, and we are always looking for more volunteers to get involved.
