Kudos to Jimmy Pierson and his team at Medic Ambulance for this partnership with Sacramento Fire Department. Switching from all ALS to tiered deployment (BLS and ALS ambulances) is an evidence-based system redesign that greatly enhances resources, enhances paramedic skill utilization, and reduces response times to critical EMS calls, which represent about 5-10% of all EMS responses. ------------------- Sacramento Fire Department adds new ambulances to its fleet in effort to speed emergency response Dec 9, 2024 Erin Heft https://lnkd.in/gjHhXatj Video: https://lnkd.in/gHruK4m4 SACRAMENTO, Calif. — In an effort to continue addressing patient needs promptly and efficiently, the Sacramento City Fire Department on Monday unveiled a partnership with the Medic Ambulance Company and the addition of four new ambulances. Taking strides to enhance capabilities, the four new ambulances are being integrated into Sacramento's 911 system. This initiative is part of a broader program tailored to meet evolving city needs, providing basic life support for non-life-threatening situations, which frees resources allowing advanced life support units to focus more on critical patients. As the city's needs grow, these new units represent a tailored response to better serve Sacramento's diverse communities. PWW Advisory Group

What is your Why? Here's mine.. and why digital advance care plans are the kinder option... #agedcare #agedcarereforms #homecare #palliativecare #advancecareplanning #digitalhealth #healthtechnology
As a hospital emergency doctor, Touchstone CEO Merran Cooper spent hours chasing advance care plans for her patients, and was repeatedly provided with documents that contained errors such as boxes ticked for CPR and no CPR. That's because advance care plans – despite being vital documents that clinical teams often need to access urgently – are usually created and stored as paper forms and PDFs. It is a problem that can lead to illegible, conflicting or outdated directives lacking validity, shareability and any means of verification. And as they are not included in hospital transfer summaries, healthcare providers and ambulance services are often left without the meaningful and critical information they needed. Advance care plans are also often shared by fax, including between residential aged care facilities, GPs and hospitals, which introduces risk and privacy implications. That's why Merran created Touchstone Life Care – to provide a digital advance care planning solution that is safe, secure and shareable. It is the kinder option, too, for patients, loved ones and clinical staff. Digital advance care plans significantly improve the quality of care for older Australians, particularly during critical transitions and traumatic times. And they eliminate the need to rely on paper and PDFs. And hallway bed count and hallway care too. You learn that it takes 3 days to get a bed in many hospitals in Ontario, long to be in a hospital room. And how many 500 bed hospitals the province has, and the graph of changes with time of hallway beds and care.
Hospital data shows Ontario's hallway health care problem is worse than ever

In the world of emergency medicine, every second counts. But before Apprise's Healthcare Capacity System, finding space for patients when a hospital was overcapacity meant time-consuming phone calls to other facilities, often delaying critical care. For Dr. Vincent Torres at Providence, HCS represents more than just improved efficiency. It embodies a commitment to community care. As he puts it, "We're all different health systems, but our goals are the same: to provide the best care for our community." HCS enables hospitals to function as a unified network. When one facility reaches capacity, another with available resources can step in, ensuring patients receive timely care. This coordinated approach allows health care providers to better serve their communities, especially during peak times or crises.

Make the ER the last resort and avoid crowding the waiting room with low-acuity visits🚫 Here is how a solution like EZaccessMD can be a missing piece to the puzzle: 1️⃣ Convenience: Patients can access urgent care services AT THE HOME, eliminating the need for unnecessary ER visits and reducing wait times for critical hospital beds. 2️⃣ Quality Care: From x-rays and ultrasounds to strep tests and ear/nose/ throat exams, our platform ensures that patients receive timely and comprehensive medical attention, tailored to their individual needs. 3️⃣ Relief for Hospitals: By easing the burden on hospital resources, EZaccessMD offers sustainability by supporting healthcare facilities in delivering efficient care and prioritizing emergency cases. #healthcare #employeebenefits #humanresources https://lnkd.in/dPS9_a2d
As ER overcrowding worsens, a new program helping to ease the crisis may lose funding
