Thursday, 9/12 highlight at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Legislative Conference … In principle, all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, racial disparities in the pretrial system (e.g., bail practices and wealth-based detention) disproportionately affect Black people, leading to higher rates of incarceration before trial. Studies have shown that Black individuals are more likely to be detained pretrial due to inability to post bail. Approximately 60% of people held in U.S. jails have not been convicted of a crime but are awaiting trial, many of whom are Black. Research from sources such as the Prison Policy Initiative and the Vera Institute of Justice suggests that Black people are incarcerated at about 5 times the rate of white individuals, often due to systemic bias, unequal access to legal resources, and disparities in bail settings. The Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference is presenting “Innocent & Exonerated,” a free BrainTrust on Thursday, September 12th @ 3:00pm.

We must also remember that good acting people will be targeted by bad acting people as a diversionary tactic. Like a lot of normal people, I've spent the last few years thinking Trump cannot possibly return to power, on account of...you know...his inciting an insurrection to overturn an election. But, incredibly, Biden continues to trail Trump in key US marginal states for the November election. It's time to start coming to terms with the real possibility of the Return of Trump, and all the dire global impacts that would have. It's not too late for the Democrats. But, barring a now unlikely prison sentence for Trump, the Democrats are going to need a near perfect game for the next 6 months. Into this situation drops 6'2" violent paedophile William McClain and Democrat judge, Sarah Netburn. McClain had served 12 years for raping two children, and had - like an increasing number of violent sex offenders - discovered he was a woman while in prison. A few years after release, McClain was convicted of distributing child pornography and sent back to jail for a few more years. While there he applied to be moved to a women's jail, and - incredibly - Judge Netburn assessed him to be "not be a risk to women" and approved the move. You read correctly. Now this exploded back into the news this month when Joe Biden nominated this idiot judge for promotion to a higher court. This gave Senator Ted Cruz - a vacuous politician of few principles - the chance to act like an incisive hero, which you can see in this clip that has been watched 50 million times in just 2 days: https://lnkd.in/eVjahdSU First of all, if you're the kind of person who thinks putting great big male rapists into women's prisons is *ever* right, get the hell out of my timeline you utter clown. Second, I'm not going to get side-tracked into how such an utterly deranged idea became a genuine policy position among progressives. The point here is that countless video clips like this, of highly educated left-wing professionals saying completely insane things, are now pretty much on endless loop on American TV stations. On right-wing stations because they think it's hilarious watching the Left self-destruct, and on left-wing stations because - despite a decade of very clear polling saying otherwise - they actually think it's popular! So why did Biden's administration propose this train-wreck of a judge for promotion, knowing that the Senate hearing would be yet another train-wreck? Is the scale of the dysfunction in the Democrats right now such that they don't even want to beat Trump any more? (It happens - look at the UK Tories!) Is it because the administration is so full of half-wits that no one even thinks of putting their proposed names into Google to see if any are mad? Or is it simply that they're so deep into this brain-rotting ideology that they honestly think that they should die on the hill of getting violent paedophiles into women's prisons? The result of all of these options will be the same: President Trump. Your move, Democrats.
