Steer Your Career in 2025! New Year’s resolutions aren’t just for fitness goals or trying (again) to drink more water. They’re a perfect excuse to pause and think about your career. Yes, your career. When was the last time you sat down and asked yourself: - What do I really want to achieve? - Am I heading in the right direction or just going through the motions? - What’s missing, and what steps can I take to fill those gaps? Too often, we’re so busy that we forget to focus on the big picture. 2025 doesn’t have to be another year of “just getting through it.” Let’s make it intentional. Step 1: Take Stock of Where You Are...Be brutally honest. Growth starts with clarity. Step 2: Envision Where You Want to Go...Write it down and look at it every day. Future-you will thank you.   Step 3: Set Clear Goals...Think about it from a backward look on December 31, 2025. What are you proud that you accomplished from a career perspective.   Step 4: Take Tangible Actions...Here are a few ideas to kickstart your 2025 career journey: - Level Up Your Skills: Take a course, earn a certification, or find a mentor. - Build Your Network: Attend one event a quarter, connect with new people on LinkedIn, or rekindle old connections. - Speak Up: Volunteer for that stretch assignment or leadership role you’ve been hesitating about. - Ask for Feedback: Schedule a conversation with your manager or trusted colleagues to uncover blind spots. - Prioritize Wellness: A healthy mind and body fuel a thriving career. Don’t skimp on rest, exercise, helping those less fortunate or downtime.   Step 5: Keep the Momentum Going...do a quarterly check-in with yourself to make sure you are on track. You can do it! Make 2025 the best career year yet. #newyearnewyou #newyearresolution #career #careerdevelopment #HR #opentowork #nextsteps
