To be more precise, the main idea is to train the employees. Content is developed, modified, expanded, and directed to specific groups of learners within the system, facilitating the traditional delivery of knowledge. However, with the integration of learning big data analytics into LMS platforms, this process has evolved significantly. Now, users can gather feedback from learners, access detailed analytics regarding learner behavior, and effectively utilize that data to enhance the learning experience. Reflecting on Choosing an LMS As I reflect on my journey of selecting a Learning Management System , I’d like to share some insights that go beyond basic tips on where to look and what to consider. Here’s my perspective as a Learning Experience Designer on the latest solutions available. 😃Ecosystem Integration Learning is not an isolated process within a company; it's crucial to integrate the LMS with a coherent infrastructure, including HRIS, corporate messengers, and other tools. Modern platforms usually have this integration covered, making things easier for both learners and those managing the process. 🫤Content Creation Mixed Feelings. Simplicity is the new black. It feels like developers prioritize beginners in content creation rather than professionals. While I understand the need for simplicity, when it comes to creating more sophisticated content, the limitations are evident. 🤔Modernizing Content Formats I often hear that developers deem certain formats outdated (like presentations or PDFs) and make them difficult to upload into the LMS. While I appreciate the push for modern approaches, isn’t it too bold to make such decisions on behalf of clients? Flexibility in content formats is key to meeting diverse needs. 😉AI Integration Currently, there is nothing groundbreaking in terms of AI integration in LMS solutions. I look forward to seeing more innovative applications in this area. 😭😭😭What's Missing? There seems to be a gap in how learners interact with their learning experience. While learners can view courses taken, results, and skills, the process of reflecting on and processing information is often neglected. I`d like to see incorporated retrieval practice elements. For example, after reading a module, learners could write down the key ideas they remember, activating their memory. Numerous studies show that retrieval practice significantly enhances learning. This is just one idea that comes first, there are many options. Effort-Based Feedback An additional feature could be effort-based feedback, where learners rate the effort they put into a task. This self-assessment can provide valuable insights into their learning process. 🤝 I think it's great to see educational trends being put into practice. On the other hand, there’s tremendous potential for LMS developers and Learning Experience Designers to collaborate and create truly meaningful experiences.

A learning management system (LMS) is an online software solution for employee training. An LMS helps you to develop and share eLearning units effortlessly. What’s more, it’s useful for anyone hungry to learn! Want to see the power of an engaging LMS? Then keep on reading! 1. At least 83% of organisations use a learning management system. 2. An estimated 73.8 million people use learning management systems. And in our opinion, you should be one of them! 3. LMSs are the most commonly utilised learning technology (89%), followed by rapid eLearning tools (44%) and mobile applications (31%). 4. Most LMS admin is handled in-house (83%), whilst 23% of organisations outsource their LMS operations. 5. 55% of learning management systems are deployed on the cloud, whilst 45% are on-premise solutions. 6. Unfortunately, 50% of L&D professionals do not believe their learning systems fit their workforce. Ouch! 7. only 22.9% of survey respondents claim that their LMS solved their organisation's ‘right problems’. 8. 44% of organisations were unhappy with their current LMS. 9. One in four survey respondents plans to change their LMS provider. We have an excellent recommendation for them! 10.
