With the number of storms our area has seen lately, you may be wondering how to stay more prepared – especially in times where you lose power. Two very important things to have in case of a power outage are flashlights and batteries. Keep a flashlight in every room of the house, or make sure each person in the home has a designated flashlight. Stock up on batteries and store them in an easy to reach place (a place that you don’t have to fight to get to – that’s the last thing you want to do in the dark.)

This post is brought to you despite a 24+ hour power outage. It's been wild. Not just during the 3m-11am red alert. From maybe 7pm or earlier. And still. I live on the very south west tip of Wales The Atlantic to the west of me The very start of the Bristol Channel to the south (I’m the closest occupied house) So I’m stuck in the middle of southerlies and westerlies. (Bonus points if you recognise the reference) I haven’t yet checked what survived the wind, Or what succumbed. Other than the power line, obviously. Hopefully limited to fences and not roofs. Not this time. Whatever. We’ll pick ourselves up and move forward again. Because that’s what matters. 🔸 Not our ideas 🔸 Not our planning 🔸 Not our technical skills Our ability to face the unexpected and keep moving forward. Despite every adversity. Despite _any_ adversity. Obviously, I’m hoping for minimal damage. Not least that I’m still playing catch-up from 107 mph winds 10 years ago. (And finally getting somewhere) Power would be nice, too. How did you fare against Storm Darragh? #WWDD? Batten down the hatches. Wait to emerge the other side.
