Yesterday in kids' yoga, we explored the theme of "ninjas" and how their attributes align with the practice of yoga. When we reached the concept of being fearless, one insightful 5-year-old chimed in, “You need to have a little fear!” This sparked a valuable discussion about the role of fear in our lives. She explained that a little fear keeps us safe—a true reflection of the fight or flight instinct. By the end of our chat, we agreed that while it’s normal to feel fear, what truly matters is facing those fears and doing things anyway. It’s okay to feel apprehensive; it’s part of being human. What counts is taking action despite that anxiety—just like a ninja gracefully navigating obstacles. Let’s embrace our fears and move forward with courage, whether on the mat or in the workplace. Oprah Winfrey said it beautifully: “I have to find some level of truth in your intention so that I can sit in the truth of my own intention.” This quote reminds us that authenticity matters. When we lead with truth—our values, our purpose, our unique voice—we inspire others to do the same. It’s in this space of honesty that success becomes meaningful. Some of the reflections to take away from Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King's conversation: Don’t pursue paths, projects, or relationships that don’t resonate with the core of who you are. If your intention doesn’t sit in truth, the reward will feel hollow. Instead, let your spirit guide you. Let your actions reflect you.
