Reciprocity. Here's a few ways reciprocity shows up in events: 1. Exclusive access: Offering early access to event content, VIP sections, or behind-the-scenes tours can make attendees or clients feel valued, encouraging them to engage more deeply with your brand or choose you for future events. 2. Personalized follow-ups: After an initial client meeting, sending a thank-you email with tailored insights or a complimentary resource (like a venue layout or an event planning checklist) makes clients feel appreciated and builds trust. In my journey as an Events planner, I’ve learned a crucial lesson: knowing your worth is not just about confidence, it's about setting a precedent that attracts the right clients. When I first started, I often undersold my services, thinking it would bring in more business. It did, but it also brought in clients who didn’t truly value my work. I realised that to attract high-net-worth clients, I needed to set a higher standard for myself and my services. Here’s what made the difference: 1. Valuing myself and Expertise - I stopped underselling myself and started pricing my services according to the value and results I provide. 2. Setting CLEAR expectations - I struggled with this previously because of a fear of rejection or fear of conflict although my clients I have been working with recently appreciate my transparency and professionalism 3. Delivering Exceptional Quality - a non-negotiable. 4. Networking with Purpose - I began networking strategically, attending specific events and engaging in conversations that matter. 5.
