Steve Jobs was one of the greatest presenters ever. But here he is in 1978, a bundle of nerves, preparing for his first-ever television interview. He says: “I’m ready to throw up at any moment.” A reminder that greatness begins when you step outside your comfort zone. Especially when it's terrifying. 🙏🏻

This post by Daniel Abrahams reminds me of David… the boy who killed a lion early as a stepping stone to killing Goliath - his path to the throne. What if he had just let the lion go with the lamb? It’s just one lamb out of many we would have said … 🤔🫡 Step out of your comfort zone! Just like David faced Goliath, we all have our own lions to slay—those fears and doubts holding us back from greatness. Stepping out of our comfort zones may feel daunting, but the chemistry of success lies in overcoming these challenges. Here’s how to tackle your lions and ignite your potential: (From my view as a chemist)🧑🔬 😁 1. Catalyze Your Growth ⚗️ Just as catalysts speed up chemical reactions, stepping out of your comfort zone accelerates personal growth. Embrace new experiences that challenge you—each one acts as a catalyst for change! 2. Create Your Own Reaction 🔬 Every action has a reaction! By taking bold steps, you create a chain reaction of opportunities. The more you push your limits, the more likely you are to discover new passions and skills. 3. Balance Your Elements ⚖️ In chemistry, achieving balance is essential. Similarly, balancing risk and comfort is crucial in life. Don’t be afraid to tip the scales toward discomfort; that’s where the magic happens! 4. Transform Fear into Fuel 🔥 Just as substances can change states, so can your fears. Transform them into fuel for your journey! Use the adrenaline from fear to drive you forward, turning anxiety into motivation. 5. Be the Alchemist of Your Life 🧪 Alchemists sought to transform base metals into gold. You have the power to transform your challenges into triumphs. Embrace the process and watch as you create your own success story! So, don’t wait for the perfect moment—kill your lion early! Step boldly out of your comfort zone and unleash your inner warrior. Your potential is waiting to be ignited! 🌟💪 #ComfortZone #FaceYourFears #PersonalGrowth #ChemistryOfSuccess #BeTheHero

This was interesting to stumble upon. The more you avoid situations that make you feel uncomfortable or challenged, the more stagnant you will remain. There is a saying by Imam Ali that goes: "When you fear something, dive straight into it, as the intensity of abstaining from it is greater than what you fear." This to me is one of the truest and most practical statements for growth and overcoming fears. Getting in the constant habit of observing that feeling of discomfort and immediately putting yourself dead in the situation. This applies to any field, but especially in Sales, where you must embrace rejection and resistant discussions every step of the way, and tackle them in the swiftest manner.. only to reap the greatest rewards in the long run. Okay.. you were shut down? You had to be on someone's case following up with them until you drove them crazy? So what? That's the consequence to generate revenue! Of course.. the hardest art form that takes true skill to master is to find that perfect balance between being a hunter who embraces difficult situations.. while maintaining the social/emotional intelligence to develop genuine fruitful relationships.
